Dave Kaleta built this diorama called Siege on the Kasbah at Deir-az-Zur for the final round of MOC Olympics. It’s far less often that we see non-traditional castles, not to mention fantasy Arabian fortresses being invaded by giant scorpions and black-hooded figures. I’m not sure what’s scarier: the army of darkness or those mime-faced skeletons.
Another entry to Classic-Castle‘s Colossal Contest, busboy489’s Castle Hadrian is so full of rich detail that it’s difficult to begin to point them out. There’s the drawbridge, the lovely tree in the lower corner, the wall detailing, the interesting architecture and angles…I’d say just go ahead and stare at it for a while. You’ll be glad you did.

That’s a lot of destruction and havoc to fix up, but I’m quite sure the CHIMPs are up to it.
Well, Katie Walker has done it again. Not content with staying with her incredible patterns, she has to step it up and create more rooms with them. I have to say that I’m happy with the result. This room is very striking.
Classic Castle’s annual medieval extravaganza is upon us!
This is the eighth year this contest has been run and the entries have grown in quality and quantity every year. The contest runs from November 1st to December 31st and features 11 categories. As an added bonus, the builder who scores the highest in at least six categories will be named Classic Castle’s Master Builder and recieve a special prize. Eric Harshbarger had made a Mega-MiniFig and I want it. However, this was a commission piece built for a toy store in Connecticut and they won’t let me even borrow it. But what a thing of beauty! Standing about 5 feet tall and using nearly 20,000 bricks, this fig is standing tall and living large.
Takeshi Itou is an incredible Castle builder. One of the best. His latest creation is simply overflowing with whimsy and charm.
This marvelous creation by zgreenz on Brickshelf has too many rich details and techniques to pass up. There’s so many strokes of genius in such a concentrated space. The bridge and windows are two of my favorites.

Rod Gillies‘ entry to Classic-Castle’s Mini Castle Contest is simply fantastic. The techniques he uses are wonderful–the Exoforce hair as a deciduous, Technic pins as crops. But what REALLY catches my eye is the mini tudors. They just…work.
Luke Watkins’s (– Derfel Cadarn –) latest castle diorama depicts hostile dragon knights storming the houses of the wealthy and demanding payment for peace. As usual, I love the detailed landscape in Luke’s dioramas. This shot below is simply epic, and here’s the overview picture.
