The last hurrah in 2024 celebrates an important aspect of the Star Wars theme, and a mainstay since their introduction in 2007: battle packs! 40755 Imperial Dropship vs Rebel Scout Speeder combines two classic battle packs, and re-imagines them in a 383-piece set that will retail for US $39.99 | CAN $54.99 | UK £34.99. Today we’ll take a quick look at the last of three new LEGO Star Wars sets for January 2023. 75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack returns to the popular 501st Legion, with their distinctive blue markings. LEGO Star Wars 75225 Elite Praetorian Guard Battle Pack [Review]

Battle packs are known for being sets with simple builds and greater emphasis on the number of minifigures. The 75225 Elite Praetorian Guard Battle Pack comes with three Praetorian Guards, a First Order stormtrooper, and a plethora of weapons. You can’t really go wrong with battle packs if you’re out to build an army, but this Elite Praetorian Guard Battle Pack 109 piece set is more than meets the eye. Since minifigures are the primary attraction when it comes to battle packs, the emphasis of this review will be on them.

LEGO Imperial Patrol Battle Pack 75207 from Solo: A Star Wars Story [Review]

We continue our early look at the upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets from Solo: A Star Wars Story, following our review of 75210 Moloch’s Landspeeder. Each new Star Wars movie spawns another batch of characters, including stormtrooper variants that generate another batch of Battle Pack sets. Solo is no different, with 75207 Imperial Patrol Battle Pack. The set includes four minifigures with 99 pieces and will retail on April 20th for $14.99.

Despite the official release date a couple weeks away, many brick-and-mortar retailers have begun stocking the sets on their shelves, and they’re also showing up from reputable online sellers. As with the previous LEGO Star Wars Solo set review, it’s unlikely that a LEGO set released ahead of the movie will contain spoilers, but without seeing the film or having reference books in hand yet, our speculation may cause unintentional spoilers for you.
