Turret Man!

Tyler (legohaulic) brings us a fantastic WWII fantasy creation. Turret Man punches you in the face with awesome! I’m a huge fan of this style of alternate history/science. I even managed to sit through Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, for the vehicle design, Tyler does a great job of capturing that 40s vision Continue reading →

Portal 2 Stop Motion

Alex Kobbs (Kooberz) is no stranger to LEGO stop motion films. His works have been featured here in the past. His latest film based on the Portal 2 video game has just become public. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V0R8Qpjl8Q&list=PL6CE54910432EFBFC&index=1 If you like it, be sure to cast your vote in the Machinima Interactive Film Festival. Portal on CUUSOO

I have seen a lot of discussion with respect to CUUSOO, in particular in terms of licenced themes, but generally about feasability of the entire program. Everyone obvioulsy has their own opinions, but personally I think the program is brilliant. We have to keep in mind that this is all in Beta right now and Continue reading →

Portal 2 test chambers in Lego

These two recent Portal 2 test chambers by Haypro (above) and [LJ] (below) shows off the dilapidated testing environment that many players of the game found memorable.

LEGO GLaDOS from Portal 2

Brandon Bannerman (Catsy [CSF]) built the humorously homocidal GLaDOS from Portal 2, who’s probably going to test and kill some minifigs in the name of science.

Portal 2 – ATLAS, P-Body, and the latest Aperture investment opportunity

My lovely wife pre-ordered Valve’s Portal 2 for me, and I’m looking forward to playing it tomorrow. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the Portal-themed LEGO models emerging from talented builders like Tyler Clites and Ryan (LDM). EDIT: Of course, these are so timely and cool that we blogged them twice. Well, at least you can Continue reading →

Valve’s Portal in LEGO steampunk vignettes

Ever wonder what the game Portal would look like in LEGO with a Steampunk twist? Arkov shows us what he thinks. Check out the nifty steampunk turret. Are you still there?

Portal 0937 interviews Michael Jasper

Michael Jasper is easily one of my favorite builders. His many minuscule creations simultaneously inspire and annoy. (“Genius! So simple! Why didn’t I think of that?!”) Portuguese LEGO fan community Portal 0937 has posted a great interview with the artist many LEGO fans know mainly by his Brickshelf user name — “mijasper“. LEGO elements, in Continue reading →

Auto-controlled tripod turret

Brickshelf user (and Klocki contributor) Sariel presents two versions of an auto-controlled tripod turret, one featuring light-up fiber-optic cables and a spinning barrel while the other features a fully-working firing mechanism that launches 12 clips. Check out the Youtube video of both versions of the gun:

Portal 0937 interviews Andrew Becraft

Luís Baixinho contacted me a while ago to ask if I’d be willing to do an interview for the Portuguese fan community Portal 0937. Naturally, I was both honored and flattered to be asked to join people like the Arvo Brothers and Hippotam. It feels really rather weird linking to an interview of myself (especially Continue reading →
