About Nannan

Nannan became involved with the online LEGO community in late 2004. He has been a builder for as long as he can remember. Nannan builds in a variety of themes that often overlap with the science fiction universe; other times they are purely made up ones. You can see his creations on Flickr, MOCpages and Brickshelf. In real life, Nannan is a physician living in Dallas.

A gunslinger on a string

Paul Vermeesch made a Lego marionette, which I’ve never seen before. The expression on the cowboy’s face is remarkable; don’t miss the minifig hairpiece that’s used for his hair (would you call that NPU?)

What flavor would you like your ride?

It’s a question I’ve never had to ask myself until I saw these models by Alex Jones (“Orion Pax”)

Swamp castle

Joshua Morris (I Scream Clone) decided that his first complete castle build should take place in a swamp setting. I like the how the rocks seem suspended over the acid pool, making the castle look very formidable in this view.

Unconventional MOCs

The two latest creations by Sean and Steph (Siercon and Coral) feature completely ridiculous yet interesting methods of building (or unbuilding). The first is a sea-scape made out of only transparent bricks that are not connected in any way.

Avalon 'Connectionless'

The second is a medieval scene made from clone bricks and modified by real fire.

Sacrilege (watch video first)

There’s a video to prove it:

Rivendell captured in Lego

Blake Baer and Jack Bittner present their second collaboration shown at BrickFair earlier this month. This time they built the beautiful Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. This is the first time I’ve seen the olive colored leaves used in significant quantities and they are great highlights on top of an already gorgeous diorama. You can see a video tour of the details on Flickr and more pictures including behind-the-scenes shots on MOCpages.

The Amazing Posable Spider-Man

Mike McCooey once again made an ultra-posable figure this time depicting our favorite web-slinging superhero. With 48 points of articulation (not an easy feat to achieve with Lego), this Spidey can do what a spider can!

Desalination plant

Gilcelio Chagas from LUG Brasil is known for his miniland scale cars, but his recent model is something much different – a desalination plant made for an electrical engineering project. There are numerous details in the elements and custom decals, which you can appreciate in the Flickr set.

Stargate Goa’uld Death Glider

The Death Glider from Stargate is a challenging ship to build due to its curved shape, but Kevin Walter convincingly replicated it in Lego. The brick-built canopy looks very good.

Halo 4 M363 Sticky Detonator

Halo 4 is coming out this fall, and Nick Jensen is taking no breaks in the expansion of his life-sized Halo arsenal. Here is his brick-built version of the Sticky Detonator along with working features.

Lenticular Lego mosaic of Batman and the Joker

If you liked Arthur Gugick‘s Anakin-Vader lenticular mosaic, then you’ll love his recent one that depicts Batman and the Joker.
