Rivendell captured in Lego

Blake Baer and Jack Bittner present their second collaboration shown at BrickFair earlier this month. This time they built the beautiful Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. This is the first time I’ve seen the olive colored leaves used in significant quantities and they are great highlights on top of an already gorgeous diorama. You can see a video tour of the details on Flickr and more pictures including behind-the-scenes shots on MOCpages.

This is one of the most beautiful creations I have ever seen. I just can’t get over the size and level of detail. Blake and Jack took no shortcuts in this build, and it definitely paid off. Great job guys!

It’s absolutely jaw-dropping in person. As great as these pics are, they don’t quite do it justice. This and the Serenity model were easily the coolest things at Brickfair.

I’d agree with Daedalus; seeing this build in person at Brickfair truly took my breath away. Still, it’s great that those who couldn’t attend the convention can appreciate it via the pics and video.
