Peter Norman (Swoofty) has fast become one of my favourite train builders. Not only does he build in six-wide (don’t ask… it’s a train thing) but he does it exceptionally well and follows it with excellent photography. His various freight cars are a good lesson to any budding (or experienced) train builder.

The Second-hand Book Shop by Xueren
Most people probably know Xueren for his amazing collection of custom minifigs, but he’s also an accomplished builder, as he demonstrates with buildings like this one.
On the street level, a vendor sells roasted chestnuts:
Naturally, the resident of the second floor, a certain Mr. Holmes, has a secret identity:
The buildings in Britain conform to the Cafe Corner modular standard
We certainly love the airplanes that Ralph Savelsberg builds, but he’s recently on a Town kick.
His most recent buildings include iconic British buildings — a corner shop and a pub:
Here they are together with the rest of Ralph’s buildings and vehicles:
Gonna lift you up
Brickshelf user carl shows off an excellent balance of form and function with this versatile container stacker. The mix of studless technic and system building gives a wonderful balance of usability and visual accuracy.
Thanks to Dave Stannard for the heads up on this
Shannonia the beautiful
Shannon Young‘s famous microcity called Shannonia underwent a huge expansion recently, resulting in the most beautiful stage of its evolution so far, now with topographic features such as the ocean and shoreline. To appreciate the current status of the city, one ought to see the history of Shannonia and its humble beginnings. The best part is that Shannonia is still growing and is forecasted to double its size at BrickCon in October.

New sets: 8637 Volcano Base, 8636 Deep Sea Quest, and 4210 [News]
Eurobricks found pictures of two new upcoming LEGO Agents sets and a City set. I like to take a moment and thank Eurobricks and a few of their persisent members who dig in LEGO’s image cache to bring us these images. Click on each picture to see more of the set. I like all three for the diversity that they contribute to their respective themes, and I look forward to them later in the summer.
