From giant space carriers to starfighters, moon bases to moon buggies, whether you love LEGO models inspired by real-world space programs or science-fiction, you’re in the right place.

LL017 Defender by Nnenn

The clean, angular lines and customizations of a Nnenn fighter combined with the retro colors of Classic Space mean total awesomeness:

Spreading an inferno with Jehkay

Jehkay says that his Flame Spreader is designed for “When all you want to do is burn everything under you.”

The engine intakes and dual guns are particularly nice.

488 Galaxy Scout by Aaron Becker

It’s always a pleasure when we get to introduce the first creation from a builder coming out of his or her “dark ages” — that time in one’s life after childhood when your LEGO bricks are packed away in the basement or your mom has sold your entire collection for $10 at a yard sale.

Today, that builder is Aaron Becker (Flickr), and the creation is “488 Galaxy Scout,” an adorable little flyer in the best Classic Space tradition:

More angles on flickr. I can’t wait to see what Aaron will build next.

Exterminate! Kill the doctor!

Steven Locke (legoavon) presents a work-in-progress Dalek and Davros which are already by far the best I’ve seen at their size (Steven has also built bigger ones which are possibly better). His part use is breathtaking. I invite every sci-fi lover to browse Steve’s folders as he is an incredibly talented builder.

Defending Earth in the Endymion Starship

Check out Brickshelf user Havoc‘s impressive microscale starship called the Endymion, meant for the defense of Earth against alien attacks. Take note of the planned and non-haphazard use of colors, which in my opinion is one of the defining factors of a skilled builder. A second ship from the builder is to be announced in a few months, and we look forward to that.

Harrison’s Little Shop of Horrors

I’ll admit to never having seen Little Shop of Horrors, but that didn’t mean I didn’t instantly recognize Harrison‘s rendition of this cult classic:

Harrison made it hard to pick just one creation to feature today. Don’t miss:

Micro space creations from Dan Jassim

Long time space hero Dan Jassim has taken a break from retirement to present a batch of microscale space creations. Here are highlights of four of them, induding the Blacktron Destroyer, Space Skulls Battlecruiser, Exploriens Starship, and Unknown Bad Guy Assault Ship.

See them all in the post on Classic-Space.

The colorful gardens of Gardens of Cyndir Fis

Shannon Young took an overdose of dreamfruit and created the Glowing Gardens of Cyndir Fis. In addition to the unusually bright colors exhibited, also take note of the cool pathway constructed with cylinders and the orientally styled bridge. Lastly, check out the amazing layout of the place in this top view shot.

Oh baby, Black Betty!

Mike Yoder continues to increase the size of his pirate fleet. Black Betty is hardly monochrome, with “close to 20 colors,” according to the builder.

This nasty piece of work may look slapped together in a bunker somewhere on an asteroid, but it bristles with menace:

The rainbow hues of Neo-Classic Space

I always wanted a green Classic Space minifig. Peter Reid seems to have felt the same, so he’s made a number of custom minifigs in alternative colors:

Of course, Pete’s been busy building his usual, fantastic New-Classic Space vehicles as well:

Where Jas Nagra disposes of the infected “meat”

Zombies in space? Sure, why not.

Jas Nagra‘s “Quarantine Module: Infection Control” has very cool angled walls and incineration pods that I don’t want to get anywhere near.

Ley Ward journeys onto Reagan Peninsula #12

It would seem Keith Goldman‘s vignettes couldn’t contain minifig Ley Ward. But what’s Ley doing on a monochrome peninsula covered in what looks like hatches?
