LEGO reveals three upcoming Jurassic World sets [News]

Ahead of this year’s summer blockbuster Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, LEGO has revealed three new sets at the Nuremberg Toy Fair based on the upcoming dinosaur flick. The three sets, one each for LEGO System, Juniors and Duplo, are part of a larger line of thirteen Jurassic World sets and BrickHeadz which will be revealed mid-February at the New York Toy Fair (which TBB will bring you full coverage of). The sets are generally spoiler free and will be available for purchase on April 16th.

Portal to a lost world

What exotic destinations would you choose to visit if you had a portal through time? Piotr Machalski selected the Mesozoic Era for this startled minifig who’s unfortunately come face-to-face with a venom-spitting Dilophosaurus. Good thing he brought a turkey leg! Piotr’s cleverly-built time machine looks a bit like a cross between a Stargate and the Nexo Knight portal we featured in February. But most of all, it looks like it could be an official LEGO set! I’d certainly swipe it off the shelf and into my shopping cart before you could say “hold on to your butts!”

Indominus rex vs. polar bear: Fight of the century

A unique feature of last year’s hit film Jurassic World was the inclusion of a white-skinned hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus rex. This allowed LEGO to create an equally impressive minifig-chomping beast, and lucky for us, this in turn allowed Jme Wheeler to pit said monster against the other most dangerous predator in the LEGO world (assuming you’re a cute little penguin): the polar bear. Let the games begin!

Oh, there’s also the Indominus’ owner camping out in the cave. Exploring is not easy, but it sure is entertaining.
