I still remember reading the action-packed and intensely emotional scene in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix where Harry and his friends battle the Death Eaters at the Department of Mysteries in front of the unsettling archway known as the veil. This fantastic little build by Wookieewarrior brought all of those emotions back to the surface for me. The archway design here is quite lovely and I love the asymmetry of the build. Best of all, Wookiee was able to create a stunning shimmery effect of the veil using nothing other than a LEGO plastic bag. That’s LEGO purism and innovation at it’s finest.

LEGO scenes from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
First, we were blown away with tiny scenes from The Sorcerer’s Stone, then with vignettes from The Chamber of Secrets. And now (you guessed it) we have a series of wonderful LEGO scenes from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This time around, the master builder behind the month-long madness was Kevin Wollert. In total, Kevin built 23 amazing Potter-themed vignettes. Each of the scenes took me back to the first time I read the book (the best one in the series if you ask me). I especially appreciate how Kevin was able to capture the dark tones of this story.

It’s not much, but it’s home.
The whimsical residence of the Weasley’s known as the Burrow looks amazing in this build by Marcel V.. The warm colors and smooth landscape create an inviting atmosphere. If you enjoyed this creation, don’t miss out on Matija’s version of the Burrow that we blogged several years ago.
Life-sized LEGO Golden Snitch
I love it when a LEGO creation doesn’t look like a LEGO creation. And that’s exactly what is happening here. With just four unique LEGO pieces, Wookieewarrior created a stunningly acurrate, life-sized golden snitch from the game of quidditch (a popular sport from the Harry Potter universe played on flying broomsticks). The parts used to make this beauty (who is worth 150 points in the game) include only a set of insect wings, a rubber band, some string, and a spacey disco ball.

Vignettes from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
For the past two months, Markus Rollbühler has been posting a series of elegantly crafted vignettes from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The project was inspired by his friend Marcel, who previously built vignettes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Below are just a few from a gallery of 20 so far, and I really like the presentation of the model by using a quote from the book to add both context and flavor to the builds.

Casa de Weasley
For wizarding student Harry Potter, the exurban London residence of George and Petunia Dursley is merely a house. But the ramshackle countryside tower of the Weasley clan is much more than that. “It may not look like much,” says Ron, somewhat embarrassed of his family’s low status, “but it’s home.” To Harry Potter, it’s a wonderful place of camaraderie and commonplace magic, which gradually becomes more of a home to him than any place save Hogwart’s. This microscale model of the Weasley home (affectionately called the Burrow) by Markus Rollbühler is also pretty wonderful. His vignette is chock full of texture and details, right down to the light blue flying Ford Anglia parked in the drive. Brilliant!
27 amazing LEGO vignettes bring Harry Potter to life
The amazing world of Harry Potter is only made more fantastic when portrayed through tiny LEGO vignettes. When we first spotted Marcel V.‘s series of astounding little Harry Potter scenes, he’d only created 5. He’s created them as a personal project to challenge himself throughout the month of March, producing almost one every day, and he’s now reached 27. Marcel tells us he worked 3-4 hours daily to create the scenes, and relied on inspiration from the books, movies, and even some Harry Potter games.

Harry Potter in vignettes: tiny scenes from the wonderful world of wizarding
Builder Marcel V. is on a mission to picture Harry Potter’s life one little slice at a time. These terrific vignettes take us from 4 Privet Drive, to Platform 9 and 3/4, Ollivander’s, and right on to Hogwarts’ Sorting Hat and the Gryffindor Common Room. Marcel tells us he’s planning a rather lengthy series, so we’ll check back in as he continues to create these brick snapshots. For now, though, check out the first five scenes in Harry’s life:
