Creepy crawly or fuzzy & fluffly (yes, that’s possible in LEGO), we love our LEGO animals. Check them out here, and fall in love yourself.

Merry Chrashmas from Santa’s B-Team!

Joel Baker is the agent for this team of misfits and directly responsible for their behavior. I don’t know about you but I don’t want these guys pawing around my roof on Christmas Eve, blacklight nose or not!

I love how Joel got so much expression into each of these deer. They may only be the ‘B’ team but they have a lot of personality!

The Naiv – A tribute to Salvador Dali in LEGO

Jin Kei has been working on a tribute to Salvador Dali for some time now. I don’t know if he is finished but this herd of stilt-walking, steampunk elephants was too good not to post.

I can’t imagine how fragile they are or how he got them all balanced. That alone is quite the feat. But technical aspects aside, these creatures are beautiful. I’d love to see them in person as I’m sure they are even more impressive. Make sure you take the time to look at the detail pictures in his photostream. It’s definitely worth it.

Lil’ Devil is wicked adorable

Paul Lee just let loose with this little creature from hell. The articulation is cool but it is the rosy cheeks and impish grin that do it for me on this build. Plus the use of the snake for the tail is rock solid.

This isn’t creepy at all

Cole Blaq makes the dunes come alive with this creepy-crawly. Cole has really created an organic feel on this crazy sand monster by using a variety of minifigures pieces mixed with Bionicle. It also has a cool menacing air that is created by the pose and the bursting effect around it’s body. Lovely!

We’re gonna need a bigger broom

Building a transparent model is always a challenge, due to the more limited range of parts. But Flickr member Igginz has overcome that brilliantly by combining transparent and opaque parts in just the right way to create this terrifying Glass Spider. I don’t know what exactly is brewing inside that arachnid abdomen, but I want no part of it!

Check out his Flickr stream for lots of closeup shots.

Vorapedes are Voracious

These lovely creepy things were built by our very own Nannan Zhang. I love how Nannan is able to transform the pieces he uses into something that is much greater than the sum of its parts and managing to create a creature that is so organic and deadly-looking.

Happy Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown

Just in time for the holiday, Tyler Sky posted this adorable trio of Snoopy, Woodstock, and tomorrow night’s dinner.

Oni-ni-kanabō

Stuart Delahay just released this big, red creature into the wild and I think he’s rather cool. I’m especially liking the skull necklace. Nice use of the Ninja-go skull for a pendant. I know he’s supposed to be bad and all that, but I don’t think he’s a bad guy at all. It looks to me like he’s just giving directions. Something like “Oh, you took the wrong turn. Go back to the main road and then turn left by Old Man Jenkins Barn. Continue on for 3 miles…”.

Maloko The Curse Bearer

Djordje has been creating some fabulous, original monsters but this one is my favorite by far. I love the giant yellow eye, the tongue and the malicious grin. There is some really nice part use in there too. The rubber Hero Factory belts make a great mouth and the use of pneumatic ‘T’s enabled him to make this a nice, tight creation.

Do you want to play a game? – Jigsaw puppet

With Halloween around the corner, I figured it was time we spooked up the place… French builder Pistash has built Billy the puppet from the Saw horror series, which celebrates it’s 10th birthday this Halloween.

Billy puppet Face

He’s managed to really capture the creepiness of a the Billy puppet – not an easy feat with LEGO.

Billy puppetI think I’m going to eat some candy and watch happy cartoons now…. this build freaks me out.

Paleolithic cat food

Built for the MOC Olympics contest in a round focused on human evolution, Deus Otiosus created this scene depicting one of our forebears about to become a cat’s lunch. The sculpture and posing of both characters is perfect. And as an added bonus, you can even enjoy this build from all angles thanks to a handy spinning animated version.

Critters in Mech Suits (CiMS)

We’ve seen frogs. We’ve seen turtles. We’ve seen all sorts of critters enhanced for battle with custom mech suits. But I have yet to see a snake–let alone a mech suit designed to do so much destruction. Because guns for legs is pretty awesome.

This dangerous snake suit is brought to you by fujiia.

Ssssnake

I can’t close this post, though, without pointing out her brilliant Dolphin Mech Suit, which looks like it’s a few gears away from being a steampunk Dolphin Mech Suit. Now THAT I want to see!
