LEGO Adventurers meet Jules Verne imagination at the Crystal Palace exhibition

Johnny Thunder and friends must have picked up quite a few souvenirs in their expeditions to distant lands and lost worlds. But, except for that one time Baron Von Baron turned his mansion into a theme park drop ride, LEGO never showed what the Adventurers got up to when they returned home. Bart Marable provides the answer with the breathtaking Crystal Palace Exhibition, an homage to LEGO Adventurers, Jules Verne, and the grand 19th century exhibitions of scientific wonders.

The Crystal Palace

The enormous structure of white girders and glass is modeled after London’s Crystal Palace which stood in Hyde Park from 1851 to 1936. It also evokesĀ 21353 The Botanical Garden at a much larger scale. The Crystal Palace

The historical Crystal Palace had nothing on Bart’s fantastical version. Have a look at these LEGO exhibits, brought to life with mechanical functions:

A modular slice of Cyberpunk

Although only one facet of a larger collaborative build, Bart Marable’s first foray into LEGO cyberpunk provides much of the requisite detail to identify it’s overall theme. While most modular buildings have such a great facade, we are left wanting when viewing the sides and backs of the building. Bart, in a relatively small build, has provided 360-degree detail with images to prove his effort.

Let’s call the ‘Fan-side’ the facade. The use of both vivid and understated colors creates a facade that seems to have evolved and been enhanced over time fulfilling the goal of portraying a cyberpunk realm, in my opinion.

Terribly Terrorizing Tiny Dragon

The word “dragon” should naturally conjure an image of a fire-breathing, terrorizing great lizard, its eyes filled with the promise of impending doom. Now, envision that same image but on a much smaller scale. The dragon crafted by creator Bart Marable, though diminutive, manages to capture the essence of this mythical beast. It depicts a dark creature exhaling flames upon what appears to be a tranquil island village, where residents live out their days in peace. In this compact creation, the creator has paid meticulous attention to detail, from the water supporting the island to the tip of the cathedral’s cross, leaving nothing to be desired.
