Here’s another great reader submission, by Rogério Ribeiro. Check out his use of the train tracks on the front of the building:

10181 Eiffel Tower Pictures
Brickshelfer rogueyoda has somehow gotten his hands on a LEGO Eiffel Tower set. LEGO Eiffel Tower?? When’d this happen? Have I’ve been absorbed in brickfilming so much I missed this? What else have I missed? Anyway, the set looks awesome. rogueyoda is still building the set appearently, but he’s posted some box pictures and some work in progress pictures. Here’s the gallery for more pictures. Man, I need more cash. Anyone want an out-of-date textbook on American politics for $50?

News: Hi-Res pics of 10190 Market Street
We learned about this set a month ago, the images available for scrutiny were rather small. Eurobricks member copmike has discovered higher resolution pictures on the LEGO Shop@Home site.
Memorial Day Minifigs
Today is Memorial Day here in the United States — a holiday that honors the men and women who have died in military service to this country. As a pacifist myself, I hope that someday our leaders will stop increasing the number of people we remember on this day each year.
But as a pragmatist, I also know that there are truly unique times in history when the world must come together to stand against evil. I believe that the Allied effort during World War II (against Nazism in particular) was one such time. With that in mind, I built a squad of WW2 U.S. Army minifigs:
Here’s a WW2-era U.S. Marine:

I can’t believe it’s not butter
Brickshelf user Shaggie has done an amazingly high quality render of a town scene involving misterzumbi’s Fiat126p design. This is certainly one of the most realistic LEGO renders I’ve seen.
University of Tokyo Clock Tower
The University of Tokyo LEGO club has been working on a large-scale version of a campus landmark, the clock tower, and they’ve just announced that it is now complete:

Cafe Corner Links for May 19, 2007
No, seriously. There’s enough stuff about 10182 Cafe Corner to dedicate a whole roundup post to this one set.
First of all, it’s where my own LEGO time has been going this past week! My brain is spinning with ideas for interiors, additions, variations, and neighborhood buildings. And I’ve always been a castle and space builder, so that says something about this set! :-D
Second, Cafe Corner designer Jamie Berard (that’s a link to his blog, for those of who unaware that he had one) has a nice Cafe Corner roundup of his own.
Finally, a couple Cafe Corner neighbors and variations by Japanese builders. Moko‘s house built with nothing but Cafe Corner, and Peachtree‘s Cafe Corner neighbor:
A bike, a car and a coupla trains
I’ve been pretty buildy lately so I’m just throwing a bunch of stuff here. The Hotrod and Bike are variants of misterzumbi and mijasper‘s models but the others are me having colourful fun. Also in my Flickr stream (may contain disliked language).
Building 10182 Cafe Corner
Here’s what greeted me when walked through the front door yesterday evening:
I’d finally ordered 10182 Cafe Corner last week, so I knew it was in the mail, but my wife understood how excited I was and set everything up so I could spend more of my time building when I got home. Yay!
Oh, and that’s why you won’t be seeing much of me around here for a couple of days. ;-)
Hien’s Hayate... better late than never
Brickshelf builder HIEN has come up with (well did come up with… it’s really rather late to post about) what I’d consider one of, if not the, best small scale WWII planes in LEGO. The entire thing is a big ball of complex genius and I, for one, am sold.
