Looking at these LEGO steampunk models, you can almost hear the hiss of steam, the clank of gears, and the whirr of clockwork. The steampunk aesthetic isn’t all wood and brass, so be sure to check out all the colorful models alongside classic steampunk creations from around the world.

BaronSat Does Steampunk

BaronSat presents a cool steampunk vehicle called the “Crocodile”:

Naturally, the Crocodile is amphibious, and the mouth opens to reveal a cannon:

Ninja + Steampunk = HEAD EXPLOSION!

From Izzo we’ve had a Ninja Mecha. I’ve made a Robot Ninja and Lukas W.P. built a Space Ninja.

Well, Linus Bohman has taken ninja mashup LEGO to a new, cranium-exploding level with … Steampunk Ninja!!! Woo hoo! Behold the awesomeness:

Here’s a closeup of the ninja, with his steam-power enhanced bow:

The ninja’s soon-to-be-dead target (dirty foreign barbarian with your silly crossbow blunderbuss!):

Bohman has included lots of interesting details that flesh out the concept of “Asian steampunk,” so be sure to check out the full gallery on Brickshelf.

Wow. Too much good stuff today. I have to go lie down now.

Steampunk + Mecha = Even Sweeter!

I blogged Izzo’s ninja mecha a few days ago, but he’s continued posting new mecha since then. Here’s the latest, a steampunk mecha titled “Tin Machine,” driven by none other than the Adventurers theme’s archvillain, Sam Sinister:

Lukas’ Steampunk Dragster

Lukas, whose “Jade Empire” minifigs I featured earlier today, has also posted a steampunk dragster:

This kind of reminds me of Bekr’s “Smoke Signal” (which I blogged a few months ago). I think Bekr’s vehicle has better detailing (called “greebling” by us LEGO geeks), but it’s nice to see more builders creating steampunk stuff, and I like the minifigs Lukas uses.

Lord Sinister’s Half Track by Mark Stafford

In addition to his creations inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, Mark Stafford’s Adventurers folder includes several cool vehicles. Here’s a new one, a half-track for Sam “Lord” Sinister:

Be sure to check out his other vehicles:

More Lovecraftian LEGO from Mark Stafford

Mark Stafford continues adding new creations to his ongoing mashup of the LEGO Adventurers theme and the Cthulhu mythos from H.P. Lovecraft’s science fiction. A recent update includes “Offspring of Shudde M’ell“:

Steampunk Time Machine

Andrew Horvatits has been posting work-in-progress pictures of a cool little steampunk time machine, and now he seems to have posted the final version:

Very nice. Worthy of the esteemed Mr. Wells himself.

Delicious Steampunkery Goodness

Today’s batch of folder updates on Brickshelf included three steampunkish vehicles — one by Octopunk (of Jeff & Jeff’s Pandemonium), one by smartiac, and another by new Brickshelf user serenity.

First up, Octopunk’s zeppelin, the Louisa May Alcott:

Next, smartiac’s tank:

And serenity’s TimeShip:

Chocobo Warrior by Andrew Horvatits

Andrew Horvatits just posted a wonderful Chocobo warrior (based on this design by Kevin Heckel, aka Jonesy over at Golden Shpleem):

I might’ve chosen a different minifig (let’s say something like one of these), but the color scheme on the Chocobo is great — especially the black levers as claws on the yellow feet. Good photography is also a huge plus.

Mike Psiaki’s Airship

I’m not sure whether this is an update or not, but Mike Psiaki has posted a most excellent airship:

Jamie Neufeld’s Steam Man and Other Steampunkery

I’ve enjoyed Jamie Neufeld’s minifig creations for some time, and I’m pleased to see that he’s still creating new characters:

Be sure to check out his other steampunk LEGO creations, including a steam-powered boat and giant wheel:
