Over on flickr, The Magic Tuba Pixie has posted this fantastic underwater scene. I absolutely love the detailing under the dome on the jellyfish. The customization on the minifig is also excellent. The breathing apparatus is excellent.

Chris Malloy’s Iron Golem will do your steampunk bidding
With a gap between LEGO creations of almost two years, it’s great to see something new from Chris Malloy (porschecm2). His Iron Golem is both sinister and adorably, simultaneously mechanical and biological.
The Chinese hats from the Adventurers Orient Expedition theme add a nice riveted look over the robot’s joints.
Steampunk flamethrowing battle mosquito
Sounds like it should a horrible mashup of bandwagon themes, but it’s actually one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. Nathan Proudlove built this steampunk battle bug for this year’s BrickCon in Seattle. Way to bring it.
Looking forward to seeing it in person.
Fulton’s Revenge: a steampunk schooner
Jordan Schwartz finished a three month project on making a “steam-powered, schooner-shaped paddleboat.” Although there are many classic sea vessels and pirate ships, a large-sized steampunk ship is quite a delicacy. You can see this great build in person if you’re coming to BrickFair later this month.
Steampunk barrel robot smokes and flies
Kevin Fedde Crimson Wolf, built this artificial steam powered intellect (ASPI) for the Flickr Steampunk group’s 100 piece challenge, and I just love it.
V&A Steamworks’ clockwork fish chug through the clouds
Guy Himber (V&A Steamworks) recently kicked off a series of LEGO creations that each incorporate a Knights Kingdom II shield.
Guy started with a clockwork lionfish (above) and followed it with an eagle ray (below).
As always, Guy combines SYSTEM, Duplo, and Bionicle elements in new and interesting ways.
Steam City + Red Faction dune buggy
I put off blogging this lovely floating rock/steampunk city by Kevin Fedde (Crimson Wolf) because Nannan had just just blogged his Field of Dreams.
It’s like a lovely steampunk version of 10193 Medieval Market Village:
Since then, Kevin has also posted a very cool dune buggy from Red Faction: Guerilla.
The red backdrop adds a lot to the presentation, and I particularly like the subtle wheel covers.
Evo’s steampunk airship Heracles slices through the clouds
This steampunk airship by Daniel GarcĂa (Evo) may have the most unique shape I’ve seen in quite a while.
As cool as the airships that look like, well, ships are, there’s nothing to say that they have to look like ocean-going vessels with propellors or balloons tacked on. With underslung cannons and a prow that goes on forever, Heracles looks like it was designed to ply the clouds (nice touch, by the way) of an unrealized steampunk past.
Now that’s a gun!
It’s not often that a creation makes me laugh out loud, but this steampunk vessel by, Rod Gillies, did just that. I love that oversized gun, reminds me of the cannons that Lego is always putting in their rowboats.
Dr. Sickepitsky’s Time Machine
Flying to the moon aboard a V&A Steamworks rocket ship
After seeing an earlier work in progress, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this lovely steampunk sculpture by Guy Himber (V&A Steamworks).
The expression on the moon’s face is priceless.
Guy’s HMS Brown Widow, aka “The Flying Rivet” displays his usual attention to detail, with sections of LEGO tubing as rivets on the trailing edge of the wings.
