LEGO Star Wars is one of the most popular LEGO themes of all time. Far beyond X-wings and TIE fighters, there’s a whole expanded universe of inspiration, and an army of LEGO fans ready to build whatever comes out of George Lucas’s head next.

Droid Tri-fighter

Check out this well-built model of the Droid Tri-fighter from Star Wars by Brickshelf user rack911. While there has not been many recent noteworthy UCS (ultimate collector series) Star Wars creations, there has been two good tri-fighter models in the past by Reto and wintermoog.

New upcoming Star Wars sets: Homing Spider-Droid and The Twilight [News]

Eurobricks has the first pictures of the newest Star Wars sets: Homing Spider-Droid and The Twilight. While we can’t make out much details from these images, I can see that there will be new unique minifigs, including Ahsoka. The Homing Spider-Droid looks especially well-designed while The Twilight can be a good set for more bley colored pieces. I look forward to these as with any Star Wars set.

So now that I’m an Ambassador, is this post legal? ;)

Tim Goddard respects the planet

Well, at least Kamino, anyway. Tim Goddard recycles two great microscale Star Wars vehicles we hadn’t featured here before into a new vignette showing the intense battle between Jango Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi:

Iconic Star Wars scenes medievalized by Piotr Lewandowski

Castle builder Piotr Lewandowski has recreated several iconic scenes from the Star Wars universe as Castle vignettes.

Here’s “Duel of Mates” (inspired by “Duel of the Fates” between Qui-Gon Gin and Darth Maul in Episode I):

And another duel, on “BestPin,” between Luke Groundwalker and Darth Father (heh heh):
