Everybody loves LEGO minifigures — well, almost everybody. Minifigs are often the stars of the LEGO models we feature here on The Brothers Brick, but we also feature some amazing custom minifigs you’d never expect to see in an official LEGO set.

The purple flame is the key...

Indeed it is, Steve Vargo

S.W.A.T.

If gold-toothed felons in black and white stripes overrun your LEGO town, it’s time to call in S.W.A.T. — armed with the usual gear.

Joe Vig and the Ninjas

I threw this together last night, as a showcase for my new green ninjas. They are so cool…

In this scene the famously oblivious Joe Vig strolls through a bamboo forest. Will he escape alive? Of course, he’s Joe Vig!

One item to note is the complete lack of bricks and plates in this vignette. Now that was fun!

The whole vigging gallery.

A couple of figs...

Wow, I haven’t posted in a long time. But I actually built some stuff last night, so I’m posting them!

The first fig has the extremely original name of “Samurai”. I mostly built this one to show off my rare ninja pieces. It makes my cousin (Kinux) mad when i do that…

The second, I call GoldenRed. I was really tired and couldn’t think of anything else…

Enjoy!

Wizards and Bone Warriors

Well, just one wizard, but a whole horde of bone warriors from Moko.

I love the use of bats in the wizard’s staff:

And the skeleton warriors are oh so shiny with their chrome armor:

Minifig Links for May 2, 2007

Third link post. I hope everyon’s getting the hang of this. I’ve run across a bunch of these in Richard McCarthy’s LEGO SigFig Flickr group.

Chuck’s Templar Hardsuit and Chris Bragg’s vampire:

Great entries in the Castle Contest and Wizard’s Challenge are coming so fast and furious I can’t keep up. On to the creations…

Lolas’ King’s Castle and Lomero’s Black Falcon’s Tower:

A couple of Nelson Yrizarry’s five entries (don’t miss this):

Workers of the world, unite!

Today is May Day — a day to honor and celebrate workers throughout the world. Piglet observes International Workers’ Day with a trio of laboring minifigs:

Of course, the United States does not observe May Day, since we’re too afraid of communism to celebrate with the rest of the world. Today, our September “Labor Day” holiday has little connection with workers’ rights and the labor movement. Interestingly, May 1 as a significant day for workers originated right here in America. Anyway…

A random socialist minifig of my own, Che Guevarra:

Heh heh… :-D

Eurobricks Wizard’s Challenge Contest

Eurobricks member The Brickster is running a minifig building contest called Wizard’s Challenge. In addition to the wizard minifig, you can also build the interior of the wizard’s workshop.

There are three categories:

  • Overall Best Wizard
  • Most Creative Wizard
  • Best Wizard’s Workshop

The contest began with the first entry on April 25, and runs for one week, so you have just four more days. There are already some strong entries from a couple EB members, such as Aves Hawthorne by SirNadroj:

And Mapones the Druid by Alex54:

So, four days to go. Get building!
