Jordan Schwartz steps up to the plate with this retro-bot. There’s just something about it that makes me want one. Maybe it’s the cute look. Maybe it’s the mandibles of destruction. Maybe it’s the fact that Jordan says it will do housework. Anyway, you need one too.

Tengen Taishi mecha by Phong Chang

I hadn’t encountered LEGO mecha builder Phong Chang until recently, but it looks like he’s been building some pretty cool mecha for some time. His latest is apparently an update to an earlier version, titled “Tengen Taishi” — inspired by the recent anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann.

Electric Counterpoint

Kaye may have dropped off the LEGO scene for a while, but he’s back with a couple of unique mecha. My favorite is Kronos, with a pair of massive guns slung over its shoulders.

LEGO Terminator mecha by Nickre

Though I won’t see it until tomorrow night myself, the new Terminator: Salvation movie looks full of cool mecha, hoverships, and post-apocalyptic landscapes sure to serve as inspiration among LEGO builders.
