I’d been looking forward to Tyler Clite’s (Legohaulic) display for BrickWorld before the event, so I naturally split my face with a smile so wide when I saw Zion Dock Defense in person. This scale of this creation and the sense of action conveyed by the dynamic poses of the APUs and the Sentinels are intense.
Tyler’s APU also won the Best Mecha Award at BrickWorld. Congratulations!
Retinence has concocted a very nicely streamlined Mech. He calls it Project Lilium. I call it Pretty Darn Cool.
LEGO creations by nnenn certainly don’t lack for color. His rainbow of security robots are simultaneously adorable and formidable.
Jordan Schwartz steps up to the plate with this retro-bot. There’s just something about it that makes me want one. Maybe it’s the cute look. Maybe it’s the mandibles of destruction. Maybe it’s the fact that Jordan says it will do housework. Anyway, you need one too.
I hadn’t encountered LEGO mecha builder Phong Chang until recently, but it looks like he’s been building some pretty cool mecha for some time. His latest is apparently an update to an earlier version, titled “Tengen Taishi” — inspired by the recent anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann.

This sad, tall robot by Alex Eylar represents a definite departure from his usual LEGO creations. Different, but still excellent.
Carter Baldwin presents a jungle ambush scene involving the attack by two suited mechas on a tank. The action is well defined and the jungle ruins atmosphere is no short of exotic.
Brent Waller‘s fabulous retro-mech made me write this post. But I really like the vintage spacesuit feel of this creation, so its okay.
