Crush the budding rebellion from within the Imperial Security Bureau

The Imperial Security Bureau scenes are easily some of the best in both seasons of Andor as we get to see how petty and cunning the Empire’s most ruthless officers can be. Some even say that the ISB is the shadow government undermining the Emperor’s good intentions. Jonah Frost converts the ISB briefing room into LEGO and this brightly-lit set for shadowy dealings has never looked better. The standout technique is the irregular wall textures made from cheese slopes at every orientation. The doorway with the Imperial logo also looks great. It’s a perfect backdrop for the new Dedra Meero minifig to stand and sneer. Maybe Major Partagaz can even muster up some kind words for everyone’s favorite spider-counter.

There are LEGO space rovers aplenty in our Febrovery 2025 mid-month roundup [Feature]

Febrovery brings all the builders to the yard, and by yard I mean crater-pocked retro space surfaces that can only be tamed by big wheels and a whimsical design. With dozens of rovers being shared each day, and some builders creating a new rover every day of February, we can’t possibly cover them all, but as the event is such a supernova of creativity, we have to give it our best effort. With Febrovery half over, we present some of our favorite builds so far. Tell us in the comments which rover you’d rather ride!

Retro radar rover by Ids de Jong

Every day during Febrovery the mad inventor Ids de Jong has robots B1 and B3 encounter a new rover, drawing inspiration from classic Space themes or inventing new ones. Like this radar rover that looks like it rolled out of the atomic age (or the toybox of Shannon Sproule). The Alpha Team windscreen is a part we don’t often see in MOCs, but it looks great here, especially paired with that lovely sand blue!

A spherical Star Wars battleship in a vacuum

Say what you will about the prequels, the opening scenes of the Phantom Menace are extremely compelling. The red Jedi cruiser approaches a Lucrehulk battleship – depicted for us here in LEGO by Jonah – for some tense negotiations. Jonah has made use of a number of classic techniques to capture the smooth curved lines of the ship in the notably square medium of LEGO. The center part of the ship is made using the Lowell Sphere, and the wider curve of the arms is made using hinge plates. Jonah has also added plenty of trans-light-blue accents to increase the visual interest of this build! Unfortunately this LEGO model will probably be short lived, as I can see a certain prophesied child in military hardware approaching bring this battleship to an unfortunate end!
