Begun, the Clone War has—and it’s lookin’ good

Like a regular guy who dutifully appears at family reunions only to get shown up by his neurosurgeon cousin, the Acclamator-class assault ship tends to get overshadowed by its more famous descendants. But this humble Acclamator (by FlyInSpace) looks amazing enough in LEGO to have us forgetting about mighty Star Destroyers for a few parsecs. Executed with nary a stud in sight, it uses SNOT bricks to simulate the smooth-yet-textured hull plating to great effect.

But wait! There’s more!

A tiny starfighter that belies its size? “Y” not?

Check out this superb LEGO Y-wing built by FlyInSpace. It’s a dead ringer for one of the original studio props! Superb shaping, a ton of greebles, and… The same size as your smartphone?! Yes, this model is actually a lot smaller than it might look at first! Certain pieces do provide clues as to its scale, such as the pair of cabinet doors used as the cockpit roof. Quite how FlyInSpace has managed to pack so much greebley goodness into such a tiny package boggles the mind. A miniature marvel!

Does anyone know how to convert 12 parsecs to Midi-Scale?

I think there’s a strong case to be made that no vehicle has been built in LEGO form more than the Millennium Falcon. There are dozens of official sets and countless more custom creations, but very few of them look as smooth as this Midi-Scale rendition by FlyInSpace. This near-studless Star Wars spaceship achieves it’s look thanks to plenty of overlapping panels connected via lots of clever Studs Not On Top construction. This is an especially impressive feat when you consider how thin the model is. And, while this ship might not be large enough for a minifigure crew, it still contains plenty of functionality, including landing gear and an openable boarding ramp.

“Careful with my ship, Wrecker...”

Continuing his line of midi-scale LEGO Star Wars ships, FlyInSpace has built an Omicron-class attack shuttle. Specifically, it’s the Havoc Marauder – the flagship and mobile base of Clone Force 99, the Bad Batch, which LEGO also released as an official set, 75314 Bad Batch Attack Shuttle. There is nothing Bad about this fan-built model though! A singular wedge element is used upside down for the angular cockpit, and it’s the perfect piece for it. There’s some great texturing in the wings and body of the ship as well, with ski poles, ingots and roller skates used to give some added detail at this small scale. The edges of the solar panel wings are very well done with clips and bars (albeit with some fragile-looking connections). Perhaps that’s why Wrecker needs to be so careful with it!

At 3,145 pieces, The Negotiator is a midi-scale LEGO Star Wars masterpiece

I just can’t get enough of this LEGO Venator-class Star Destroyer by FlyInSpace! The lines on this build are so clean, it looks like the edges were cut with a hobby knife. At 27 inches long, it’s hard to believe this model is actually a step down in scale from the LEGO Ultimate Collector Series.
