Jester’s wrath

Chris Edwards has created a unique castle-themed boss battle in which a family of five heroes battle an evil jester unleashed from a magical spell book. While the landscaping is typically excellent, what brings this model to the top of creativity is the jester’s contagious spread of magic, infecting those who come in contact with it. This is so typical of a video game boss, which makes me want to pick up a controller and start pressing buttons.

Zgrredek’s battle scene is grreat!

Klocki continues to introduce the world to wonderful builders we may not have heard about before.

The latest builder I’m learning about is Zggredek, whose siege scene is full of intricate details. Click the picture to check out tons of pictures on Brickshelf.

Gargantuan dioramas

Wilson Raska displays two enormous dioramas on Brickshelf for the first time. The first is called the Crown of Asgard, depicting what looks like the landing of a fantasy-tech flying craft on a clearing by the cliffs. The most studding feature of this creation in my opinion is the dynamic crafting of the cliffs.

Next up is the Tauros Military Outpost. While the creation my appear as chaotic from the scattering of the light gray and dark gray bricks, what’s noteworthy is the overall structure of the work, which depicts an elaborate system of stone balconies.

Rocko gets whimsical and naughty

If you’ve seen some of the flip side of Rocko‘s castle dioramas, you’ll know he sometimes builds things that make you smile or laugh. Checkout this sled chase for example.

This next creation does not need any explanation, but it may be interesting to know that despite many efforts, Rocko can never make it past the K in real life.

Reach for the sky!

There is something truly breath-taking about a tower. Perhaps it’s the struggle with gravity or maybe it’s just the ego-smashing experience of being dwarfed by something that stretches into the infinite reaches of the sky. Whatever the reason, towers are fun. This one is no exception.

A little Winter Wonderland

I haven’t built anything in awhile and I’ve been frightfully busy, but here is a little something I worked up this weekend.

Dwarf’s gate

Aaron (Darkspawn) enters the CC battles contest with an impressive entry. None shall pass the gate into the Dwarf’s mines, not even when a Necromancer with an army of skeletons and winged beasts.

Science Fantasy

Mark Stafford‘s invention of the theme called science fantasy looks like a combination of castle, steampunk, and science fiction. The result is a city called Sproket. The scene depicts the city plaza under invasion by pirates while guards and citizens respond in defense.

Check out the two walkers from the scene.

Skellies+Dyna-Gloves=Humans Lose

Not gollum, golem

Texture, action, creatures, thatch and falling minifigs. There’s really nothing to not like about Adrian Florea‘s (Olog) latest diorama. I think I’ll let it speak for itself.

Micro floating castle

Mumu‘s entry for the Original Model Contest was Mont Saint Michel, a microscale castle in the air. Imagine the view from up there; it must be great.

Cry of the Ancients

Can you tell from a glance where this is? Anthony Sava presents the desperate struggle of a small group of vikings finding themselves on the wrong sacred grounds. Maybe for this reason Stonehenge is blocked off to visitors. I especially like the lighting in this picture. The overhead lamp imitates the torch light superbly.
