Lifesize props that will have you asking “Is it LEGO?”

Halo 4 M363 Sticky Detonator

Halo 4 is coming out this fall, and Nick Jensen is taking no breaks in the expansion of his life-sized Halo arsenal. Here is his brick-built version of the Sticky Detonator along with working features.

Don’t Play With Your Food

But contrary to what your mother told you, some food is meant to be played with, as Matt Armstrong demonstrates with these cunningly crafted crops. From green onions to broccoli and avocados, Matt’s got your organic palate covered.

Life-size Warhammer 40K Bolt Pistol

We’ve featured many of Jarek‘s Warhammer 40K creations in the past, but this is a first. Instead of scale models of vehicles or troops from the games, he’s built a life-sized gun from the game. He’s built in several cool play features, though not launching a projectile, which you can see in his youtube video, below.

Life-sized Lego forest in Australia

In April, a life-sized Lego forest featuring giant sculptures of Lego plants showed up in Sydney as part of Australia’s “Festival of Play.” Since then the sculptures have migrated to a desert landscape in New South Wales. Check out the article on BuzzFeed for a video of the scene.

I like-ah this Leica

H.Y. Leung (Mr.Attacki) appears to be relatively new on flickr, however, a quick Google search reveals that he has been on MOCpages for a while longer. But one thing for sure, these fantastic creations don’t appear to be getting the attention they deserve!!

These are two of my favourites, but be sure to click through the rest as well.

A survey of British birds by DeTomaso Pantera

DeTomaso Pantera (DeTomaso77) recently began posting some seriously gorgeous LEGO representations of British birds that I just can’t pass up.

My favorite is this adorable robin named “Bobby,” complete with the handle of a spade to perch on.

Beyond the beautiful birds themselves, what I love about these is how DeTomaso has presented them in a variety of settings, like “Gloria” the goldfinch, complete with a nest, perching twig, and lovely piece of suet.

DeTomaso promises to post more birds, so keep an eye on Flickr and MOCpages for updates.

Thanks for the tip, Bruce!

Amazing Avengers Props by Ken Robichaud

Today might be a witty day for a Star Wars celebration, but it also happens to be the day The Avengers film is released. And with as much excitement as the rest of us, but a with great deal more effort and skill, Ken Robichaud (aka buriedbybricks) is showing his enthusiasm for Marvel’s latest film. Ken has broken out his Lego to create some astounding life-sized props for the Avengers. I actually spent a moment looking at Hawkeye’s bow, and trying to figure out why it was in the “Lego” group on flickr, before I zoomed in and realized that it was, in fact, entirely Lego. And Ken’s other props are no less magnificent.

An Amazing Contraption: Lego Ball Maze

Check out this phenomenal creation by Jason (True Dimensions). I love seeing real, working objects made with Lego, that function just as well as their traditional counterparts. Jason’s ball maze is fully working, and features an integrated, removable ball storage box, and interchangeable mazes in several different themes.

Lego Halo Reach M45 Tactical Shotgun

Nick Jensen has used Lego to build most of the human weapons from Halo. His latest LEGO Halo model is the M45 Tactical Shotgun, which took almost 2 months to make. In addition to its realistic looks, the model also has working features such as a sliding pump and ejecting shells, which you can see on YouTube.

Lego Nerf gun

Why am I blogging a Nerf gun? Because it’s made out of Lego by Arkov.

Who can object the talent of Bruce Lowell?

This roundup post features Bruce Lowell and the amazingly realistic objects he made in the past month. It gives me shivers to think that all of them are made out of Lego. Check out Bruce’s Flickr photostream for more of his recent builds.

Rayguns on the moon

The only thing I can fault Shannon Sproule (Shannon Ocean) for lately is his tardiness. Had he built all his wonderful new toys before Brickvention I could have seen them all in ABS. I guess his amazing photos suffice.
