TBB NEWS AND REVIEWS This week saw the announcement of a new twist on the Marvel collectible display front with scaled-down bust models of two iconic Marvel characters, Iron Man and Spiderman (also of the iron variety). These smaller versions of popular characters seem to be a sign of LEGO learning from past mistakes like the oversized and overpriced Black Panther bust. LEGO announces new Marvel Mini Bust line with Iron Man and Iron Spider sets [News]

In the wake of clearance-priced LEGO Marvel 76215 Black Panther appearing on the LEGO website for over a year, it appeared that interest in a large bust of a superhero didn’t exist for LEGO shoppers. Consisting of 436 and 379 pieces, respectively, these portrait statuettes clock in at a height of only 6.5 inches (17 cm). Each is adorned with an appropriate minifigure, with the Iron Man bust coming out June 1st and Iron Spider hitting shelves later on August 1st. Both Marvel sets are available for pre-order now, and retail for US $59.99 | CAN $79.99 | UK £54.99.

TBB NEWS AND REVIEWS This week marks a return to Middle Earth with the announcement of the latest set from the theme and our review. While not as ominous and imposing as Barad-dûr, or as majestic as Rivendell, the Shire is certainly one of the most memorable locations, featured in both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and the location features prominently in the opening part of both stories. This week heralds the return of another feature to The Brothers Brick, the custom minifig! We also brought you another chapter on creative tree-building techniques using the green antler element. LEGO Ideas 21356 River Steamboat – A brick-built voyage [Review]

The LEGO Ideas line has been churning out sets at a record pace! There are lots of fun models coming down the pipeline. However, speed is not the focus of the latest edition to the collection. Quite the contrary, we’re headed for a relaxing, serene paddle downstream. The LEGO Ideas 21356 River Steamboat arrives on the scene as the largest Ideas set ever produced, coming in at 4090 parts. Based on the winning submission by fan designer Aaron Hall, and made a reality by LEGO designer Marina Stampoli, this model is quite the sight to behold. But does it sink or float (metaphorically – it’s definitely too heavy to actually float)? Join us on a voyage of discovery as we take a closer look! It will be available to LEGO Insiders April 7th and everyone else April 10th, retailing for US $329.99 | CAN $429.99 | UK £289.99.

LEGO announces Pokémon partnership, sets coming in 2026

Today The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company announced a multi-year partnership with new sets to arrive in 2026. Details are short at this time, with a teaser video just showing the tail of a brick-built Pikachu, but with over 1,000 Pokémon and 30 years of games and anime to draw from, the possibilities are vast.

Previously, Pokémon building toys had been released by Mega, with the line including both larger-scale buildable characters and smaller-scale playsets. Will LEGO follow a similar model? Can we expect minifigs of your favorite trainers? Tell us in the comments what you want to see from Pokémon LEGO sets next year. And while you’re waiting, have a peek(achu) at our Pokédex of fan creations we’ve admired over the years.
