This is what we’re all about. We scour the web for the best custom LEGO models to share with you. From castles and spaceships to planes, trains, and automobiles, you’ll find the best LEGO creations from builders all over the world right here on The Brothers Brick.

INSERT COIN

Well it’s been far too long since our last self-indugent 80s nostalgia trip. So let’s fix that, with Ethan Marak‘s near perfect facsimile of the classic 2½D scrolling video game ZAXXON. It’s enough to send shivers down your mullet…

We look forward to seeing more classic gameplay recreations by Ethan in the future. I’m putting in my vote for Xevious and Marble Madness now! In the meantime, Ethan has also created a variety of miniature arcade furniture, including a 2-player tabletop unit (minus the french fry grease stains).

Bender TV time

I don’t know about our readers, but I spent a good amount of holidays catching up on TV and video games. Sean and Steph Mayo (Siercon and Coral) has basically captured it in this simple yet, awesome build:

A Saturday Bender
While I’m not actually Bender from Futurama, I wish I was.

Radiating mystique

This bust of an enchantress by Mihai Marius Mihu radiates an aura of mystique. The use of the blue blades on the face is superb.

These are probably the worst pies in London.

There’s no denying that Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a dark, dark musical and it covers dark, dark material as only Stephen Sondheim can do.

James Pegrum (peggyjdb), who is no stranger to TBB, has done a lovely rendition of Mrs. Lovett’s meat pie shop. The build is inspired by Tim Burton’s 2007 film.

Meat pie anyone?

No cats were harmed in the writing of this post. They were only mildly annoyed.

KABOOM!

Grant Davis captures the exact moment of an explosion in his latest castle creation based on the siege of Helms Deep from Lord of the Rings. If you’re curious to see how the creation is built, visit MOCpages to for more.

Happy New Year’s to ewe!

2015 is the year of the Sheep*. So in celebration of the new year, Moko has created an adorable little mascot to ring in the festivities. The wooly fleece underbelly of this sheep is just too cute.

TBB’s most popular LEGO models of 2014

As we kick off 2015 and reflect back at 2014, let’s take a look at some of the great LEGO creations we’ve featured here. LEGO builders all over the world built thousands and thousands of models over the year, but here are the ten that were viewed most on The Brothers Brick.

Orc pit - Main 1. Mayhem in the Mines by Grant Davis (right) gave us a view into the dramatic tension between goblins and Uruk-hai. Apparently, these two kinds of villainous creatures from The Lord of the Rings don’t get along particularly well.

Grant’s multi-tiered diorama features realistic rocks in the cave, lots of wooden structures, and little stories on each level.

I hadn’t encountered Grant’s work until we featured “Mayhem in the Mines,” but with the top LEGO model on The Brothers Brick in 2014, I’m very much looking forward to what he’ll share with all of us in 2015!

Ghostbusters HQ LDD File2. Build your own Ghostbusters HQ firehouse with instructions from Brent Waller. With the release of his LEGO Ideas Ecto 1 set, I’d say Brent had a pretty good year!

But if your personal Ghostbusters layout was missing anything, it was probably the firehouse that the crew used as a headquarters. Brent saves the day, though, by giving us all instructions to build his firehouse design.

3. They mostly come out at night — mostly…”. Back in May, Xenomorph designer H.R. Giger died at age 74. We rounded up some of the best LEGO models inspired by the Alien franchise from previous years, as well as some great new scenes from Aliens put together by “Missing Brick.”

Red Heron Space Truck

I’m a firm believer that adding ‘Space’ to anything makes it more awesome. So what do you get when you add Space to trucks (which are already awesome), you get Jason Corlett‘s epic Space Truck:

Red Heron 2120 Freight Hauler

This build actually started off as two separate builds that Jason tells us wasn’t working for him, so he combined it into one really cool mash up:
Red Heron 2120 Freight Hauler

What I’ve always loved with Jason’s build is his attention to detail and realistic feel to his out of this world creations. A great example is the the awesome cab opening and the engine in the back:

The mysterious and precarious cottage of Malcumus Erlond

We’ve highlighted the stellar LEGO Castle creations of César Soares (three times already this month, in fact!), but each one stands out as beautiful and unique in its own right. César’s latest building stands not atop a mound of highly textured landscaping but an incredibly thin spire.

Malcumus Erlond Cottage

The builds themselves deserve the attention and praise we’ve given them, but César also presents each with an enigmatic story told with carefully placed minifigs going about their little minifig lives.

Gobbs the Brutalizer isn’t here to be your friend

Djordje found this fellow lurking down in the dungeons and I think that is where he should stay. He really looks like he has earned his nickname but I really like the choice of colors on this character. The black clothes make the orange skin really stand out and the purple mohawk makes for a nice splash of color. The construction of the face on this guy is rather special as well. The tooth/claw pieces as detail bits around the eyes give this creature some real character.

LEGO Vespa – Lean, Clean, Stylish and Smart.

Lucie Filteau built this model as a Christmas present for her brother-in-law, who owns a Vespa. Lucie has done a great job capturing the iconic look and feel of a vintage Vespa. Her choice of scale is spot-on as those complex slopes accurately mimic the clean lines of actual vintage Vespas and make this build really believable. I have to say that I’m rather jealous of her brother-in-law!

At the foot of the fortress

This display by Lukasz Wiktorowicz uses a castle wall as a perfectly natural backdrop. The angled section of the build plays a key role of breaking up the linearity of the creation.
