Jeremy Williams has built a beautiful corridor. I don’t say that often but this one is special. I love the circular walls and the amount detailing is just right. But, on top of all that, the lighting is perfect.
Many thanks to Pete Reid for the tip!

This macabre scene by Letranger Absurde strikes just the right chord. The subdued colors of the landscape, the superb stone arches and the sense of suspense all come together nicely. It gives me the chills…
Mark Erickson has done it again. Mark is one of the best Castle builders out there and he doesn’t stop. This particular creation is loaded with lovely details. From the waterfall to the trees, from the rockwork to the styling of the castle itself, this is a very well-thought build!
Here is a build that we missed from earlier in the year. Hammerstein NWC is a force to be reckoned with and this “Kromikoma” is some of his best work. All the custom “shiny” makes me jealous.
Eli Willsea and Grant Davis built this incredible Pirate scene for BrickCon this year. All their hard work paid off as they took home the trophy for Best Pirate creation. The layout is loaded with fun details. But the best part of it is a functional waterfall that “flows” with bricks. I was very glad that they got that working. It’s a very cool and unusual feature!
Check out this time-lapse video to see how they built it and to see the waterfall in action.
Lisqr has discovered a rare albino Saber Toothed Tiger! I like the studs out effect on this. It really gives it the feeling of fur. Also the dark background, little bit of landscape and subdued lighting reminds me of a museum display. The whole build really flows well together.
Chris McVeigh has built a perfect little SLR camera. For those of our readers too young to remember, these cameras required the user to insert something called “film” into them before use. Chris’ version is spot on. Sort of makes me nostalgic, you know?
Tim Schwalf has run out a rather unusual rendition of one of the relatively unknown blue wizards from Lord of the Rings. The entire build seems to be controlled chaos, made of random bits, colors and juxtapositions that I would never have imagined would work together. However, when you stand back and look, it really flows into one cohesive whole. I’m rather impressed that this is Tim’s first brick-built figure and look forward to more! By the way, I love that beard.
This adorable little dragon by Deus Otiosus is too cute for words. I love the use of transparent doors for wings and the use of a “studs-out” technique somehow makes it look fluffy.
Swestar has released a new mech into the wild. It answers to the name “Guardian” and it’s pretty dang cool. But I especially love the atmosphere he has going on in the base/hanger in which he introduces the Mech. The presentation is just about perfect.
This lovely scene from the Star Wars Expanded Universe is very well put together. From the angled walls to the meticulously laid out tiles on the driveway, from the expanded plates on the archways to just the right amount of mottling and texture on the walls, this build is packed with subtle detail and technique. Plus he used one of the gold C3-P0s that everyone is afraid to take out of their packaging, you have to give Markus credit for that! Take closer looks at the pictures on this one. You will be surprised at the level of hidden detail.
