Andrew Lee (Wintermute/Onosendai) has built quite an awesome pirate mecha. He has proven once again that he is the master of sticker use, using only official LEGO stickers. The weapons compliment is very nice as well, from the arm blades for breaching space-galleon hulls to the grappling hook.

I like three wings.
Adrian builds destruction
Adrian Florea has built a spectacular utility ship. Not content to just build a great space ship, though, he’s captured it in the midst of an explosion. I love how Adrian has managed to capture the energy and motion of the explosion.

What a hamburger’s all about
Bruce Lowell loves a good double-double. He’s re-created an In-N-Out Burger in stunning detail. He’s captured everything right down to the X of palm trees marking the spot. Speaking of those palm trees, check out the awesome rendition of dried leaves. Make my burger animal style.
Bike to the Future
Or perhaps from the future. Spook‘s new motorcycle certainly looks high-tech, that’s for sure. I love the windscreen, which is a difficult part to work with.
Neo Classic Space Redux
Pete Reid isn’t the only guy who’s building a revival of the old classic space style sets. Both Thomas Oechsner and Josselin Guédes have lent creations to this theme. I really like the vertical orientation of Josselin’s fighter (shown to the right).
Meanwhile, it’s the subtle details about Thomas’s glider (below) that really grab me. The tiny transparent yellow windscreen and the yellow-black-yellow stripes are both nods to classics like the Galaxy Explorer.
Mark wishes us all a happy Valentine’s Day
While I may not be keen on Valentine’s Day as a holiday, I can’t fault Mark Neuman for the way he expresses his Valentine’s wishes. He’s built an adorable mecha/animal robot to offer up a cupcake. I love the expressiveness of the face he’s achieved, and the feet are just adorable. Since I’m 3000 miles away from Mark, I can’t eat the cupcake, so I wish it was made of LEGO too.
This space ship is a junker!
Justin Vaughn has recently posted a very interesting spacecraft. When I first saw it, I didn’t think that I liked it. None of the sections seemed to flow with each other, or even belong together. As it turns out, that’s just the effect he was going for. The ship is intended to look like it was cobbled together out of various scrap at a space junkyard. Mission accomplished, Justin.
Felix is back, and he’s building castle
Long time spacer, turned sculptor, turned non-builder, Felix Greco has returned to the brick, and now he’s building castle creations. He’s built a cute little cottage, with some stone work that I think adds a nice touch of realism. I’m also a fan of the way he made the lattice windows on the first floor. The fact that it’s home to the “ice cream knocker over-er” just adds to my delight.
I may not know castle...
But I know what I like. Daniel Z has created a very cool castle scene. I know that the buildings in the middle ground are from the Medieval Market set, but that doesn’t detract from the cool original aspects of this creation. Daniel has managed to stack several layers of detail into a small space, giving a fantastic sense of depth. Don’t forget to check out the crooked rocks either!
I like robots too
Tim isn’t the only guy around here who likes a good LEGO rendition of a robot. Tadashistate has posted a new robot that’s quite interesting. The neck guard is a really nice touch, and the weapons are quite original and different.
