Happy holidays to all of our fellow LEGO builders! As is tradition, we at The Brothers Brick will be opening our advent calendars as we count down to Christmas. We’ll also be sharing commentary on each one, which we hope will provide insight and hilarity to your holiday season!

This year we have new Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, City and Friends advent calendars to open. We will be sharing images of the new calendars every day through Christmas, and hope that you’ll join us! Let’s see what there is to open on Day 11.

Day 11 gave us a classic X-wing starfighter from the Star Wars calendar. The Harry Potter advent calendar gift was a minifigure: Griphook, a goblin of Gringotts. The Marvel minifigure was a bit less obscure, known across the world as the villain Thanos.

The City calendar’s gift was a fire-fighting helicopter, while Friends gave us a small kitchenette set.

Bart: Cookies and milk is an absolute classic!

CJ: Thanos with coal is pretty funny. That’s a nice X-Wing micro, too.

Chris: The X-wing is pretty awesome. LEGO continues to hit out of the park with the microscale ships in the Star Wars calendars. I love Thanos with coal, too. The little City chopper is solid, but I’m confused by the blue cones. Aren’t they floats? Why are they trans blue? 

CJ: I wonder if the cones are meant to be water – City fire rescue choppers are a common theme.

Ed: Lovin’ the X-Wing. Tiny Thanos stealing X-mas gifts I suppose instead of giving them away.
