Forbidden Exodia is about to explodia

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, Exodia the Forbidden One offers a shoot-the-moon combo that is catnip to a certain type of gamer: collect all 5 pieces of Exodia and you win. Builder mc tung previously gave us a brick-built Yugi and his prime card lineup, and now he presents the combo creature that won Yugi his first game.

mc tung mixes warm gold parts from constraction sets (like the torso, taken from Legends of Chima buildable figures) for the body, with nice System sculpting to recreate the Egyptian-themed head. Rubber tires make excellent shackles for the Forbidden One. Apart, each limb is impressive enough, but fully assembled, it’s game over, man. Game over.

“My grandfather’s deck has no pathetic cards, Kaiba”

While I was more a Magic: the Gathering fan growing up, I was certainly aware of the trading card phenomenon known as Yu-Gi-Oh. And to see such an excellent recreation of characters/cards from the TV show in this LEGO build by mc tung takes me back to the early 2000’s, for sure. Featuring (from left to right) Swords of Revealing Light, Dark Magician Girl, Kuriboh, Dark Magician, and Blue Eyes White Dragon, these five iconic cards from the show and game stand before Yugi Mutou, wielder of this special deck of cards. Each of the figures are an outstanding creation on their own, and as a sextet are instantly recognizable. I especially like all the detail put into Yugi’s crazy hair and the billowing cape behind him. He’s even rocking his magical Millenium Puzzle and standard-issue Duel Disk.

Time to turn back the clocks with this monster from Yu-Gi-Oh!

LEGO builder Bodhimitri has constructed this fantastic model of Time Wizard from the classic card game anime, Yu-Gi-Oh!. The charming rounded shape of the creature has been perfectly captured in this model, even with the cogs around the face and the staff in hand. The pointed shoes are partially created by the use of sloped curved pieces and the wizard appears to be standing on a card version of himself. In the show, when this card activates its effects you have a 50-50 chance to destroy your opponent’s monsters or your own. It all depends on the result of where the spinner lands, located on Time Wizard’s staff. Let’s hope this is one lucky spellcaster!
