Cafe and pizza, Mediterranean-style, in a towering LEGO modular

Mediterranean architecture — like Mediterranean living — has a unique flavor to it, sun-kissed and rooted in tradition. Andrew Tate has captured a beautiful slice of it with his latest modular-style creation. While Andrew mentioned some of the really difficult connections (the SNOT shutters offset ever so slightly), so much of this building is very “normal” LEGO. Relax and take in those pleasing right angles! Even with new LEGO elements that come out every season, never underestimate the beautiful work that can be done with a standard LEGO brick. For an extra old-world touch, rather than use tiles for the sidewalk, Andrew uses the brick-embossed brick for the entire base…or as we call it in our house, the “brick-brick.”

Flamingos on the terrace

This creation by Noah really makes me want to go on a holiday. It reminds me of previous vacations to Spain, France, and Italy. Vacations where you would wake up by the sounds of the birds combined with the rays of the sun peaking through the curtains. Having breakfast on the terras while still having no plans for the rest of the day. That to me describes a perfect vacation day.

Noah’s latest creation exudes that same vibe. They also display some creative part usage when it comes to the terras chairs and the balcony railing. I love how the floor beneath the terras has an angled wall and the way Noah managed to incorporate the curved window into that same angled wall. Also, have you spotted the insect curtain on the door?

A peaceful house in the Greek countryside

Γεια! — That’s “hello” in Greek, which is what I would say if I were visiting this Greek house in person. Built by creator Toltomeja, the Greek House is a fantastic portrayal of typical dwellings in Greece.

My favorite part about the house is the white walls and stairwells. It’s such a classical look. The tile flooring on the patio is very well done. I appreciate the variety of colors used to indicate foot traffic over the years. An additional sign of the house’s age is the vine work growing up the side of the stairs.

This was a gorgeous LEGO model to look at. If it was a submission on LEGO ideas, I would definitely throw in my support!
