A Batmobile beyond the need for roads

By my counting, LEGO has made roughly 50 versions of the Batmobile since the first version debuted in 2006, but one version that has yet to be sold in brick form is the futuristic model seen in Batman Beyond. One builder who couldn’t let that slide is F1Elevenbricks, perhaps the biggest Batmobile enthusiast in the LEGO fan community. The builder’s take faithfully recreates the distinctive silhouette of Batman/Terry McGinnis’ supersonic ride, while giving it a muscle car spin with added greebling. Wipeout racer in LEGO is a block rockin’ beast

With its sleek anti-gravity racers, pounding EDM soundtrack, and unmatched sense of speed, the Wipeout series remains one of the UK’s most beloved video game exports. Sebastian Arts brings the adrenaline rush to LEGO with his eminently cool Feisar FX250-300 racing ship. Everything about the presentation is ace, from the stellar color blocking to the custom stickers to the smaller- scale racers on the stand to the slick graphic design that frames the models.

Back when the future wasn’t quite so futuristic.

LEGO builder Isaac Wilder is known for retro automotive creations. But this time Isaac is bringing us a vision of the future – or, at least, the way the future was envisioned back when the cars he normally builds were new. Does that all make sense? Isaac’s hover car is all old-school curves up top, while the bottom is a gaggle of technological greebles keeping it aloft. And it’s getting gassed up by what looks like the love child of a Star Wars droid and a Radiator Springs gas pump. The full effect is a scene from a future we all remember, but haven’t quite reached, yet.

Bring the future home with the Sky Rider Special

Scientists, writers, and other visionaries of the past imagined we’d all have flying cars and bikes by now. What happened? What they were expecting was a revolution of energy but what happened instead was a revolution of data. The result means that the average person carries far more computing power in their pocket than what it took to put men on the moon but we, as of yet, have no efficient or affordable means to fly to work on the daily. Still, a boy can dream and Vince Toulouse has such a dream with this Sky Rider Special. Dark blue and tan make for a handsome color combination while a ball socket acts as a terrific headlight encasing. The pièce de résistance however involves the use of two Bionicle airpumps in the engine area to emulate some brilliant hover-bike wizardry.

Someday Vince’s vision may still come true but for now I’ll have to appease myself with entire libraries worth of data at my fingertips in order to watch dachshund videos on Youtube.
