Gardening with Ethan

And another via the contact form. :-) Ethan presents a garden:

Believe it or not, Ethan’s garden is based on this earlier creation:

DARKspawn’s Medieval Observatory

With Josh busy over the spring and summer, we sometimes miss great Castle creations, so we’re grateful when readers like DARKspawn use the contact form to remind us! :-)

Classic LEGO sets, microscaled!

A couple LEGO fans have been building microscale versions of classic LEGO sets lately.

Thomas Main gets things going with microscaled versions of several sets from the 1970s:

Nermal joins the trend with a microscale version of 6034 Black Monarch’s Ghost:

This is something I’ll have to try with my favorite childhood sets. :-D

Winners announced for the LEGO Castle Contest

Winning entries have been announced for the recent LEGO Castle Contest on Classic-Castle.com. Nearly all of the winning entries have been featured here on The Brothers Brick, but there are a couple that we missed.

In the Joust category, DARKspawn topples the competition for his aptly named “Joust”:

Piotr Slezak puts a bolt through the other entries in the Ballista category (don’t miss the animation in his gallery):

LakeHold Castle by Jeramy Cooke

I’m sometimes confused by (and jealous of) the talent some brand-new builders display. New Classic-Castle.com member Jeramy Cooke says that he hadn’t touched LEGO for 18 years before building this beauty. Wow. Head on over to his Classic-Castle Forum thread for links to more great pictures.

And now, young Skywalker...you will die!

Chris Wunz gets to be the first person who uses the new lightning pieces in the 2007 Castle sets for what we all wanted to use them for — force lightning! And the new scared face (also from the new sets) is great for Luke’s expression as well.

Classic, just classic!

Martin Jaspers combines classic Castle minifigs and a non-production green helmet for a great “Practical Joke”:

NickGreat’s Green Samurai

As featured here previously, master customizer NickGreat continues his “Colors of the Samurai” with my favorite color — and favorite minifig so far (via Klocki):

(Wow, feels like I’ve been gone forever, but it’s only been a couple of days. My bookmark folder’s bursting at the seams, so I’ll do a few “roundup” posts tomorrow to catch up.)

Micro 6086 Black Knight’s Castle by lovebacu

Brickshelf user lovebacu has miniaturized 6086 Black Knight’s Castle (via Klocki):

By the way, whenever I blog someone new, I always try to find their real name, blog, or Web site to give proper credit. In searching the Web for lovebacu’s user name, I discovered several Korean LEGO communities, including BrickInside, where lovebacu seems to be a member (though I’m not sure, since I don’t actually read Korean).

If you’re a reader in Korea and you have suggestions for Korean LEGO blogs or forums we should include in our links, please let us know!

A couple of figs...

Wow, I haven’t posted in a long time. But I actually built some stuff last night, so I’m posting them!

The first fig has the extremely original name of “Samurai”. I mostly built this one to show off my rare ninja pieces. It makes my cousin (Kinux) mad when i do that…

The second, I call GoldenRed. I was really tired and couldn’t think of anything else…

Enjoy!
