LEGO Ideas 21362 Mineral Collection revealed – a real gem [News]

The LEGO Ideas program is such a strange label, where TV shows and movie vehicles stand alongside pieces that wouldn’t look out of place in a science museum. Case in point, the 70th Ideas set, LEGO Ideas 21362 Mineral Collection, debuts on October 1 alongside Gizmo from Gremlins. The Mineral collection feels akin to the Insect Collection, which is one of our favorite sets of recent years. Featuring six mineral samples and modular shelving, it’s a display piece that you can mix and match to your tastes. The set is based on the fan design from Dario Del Frate, with slight variations to the minerals presented. We’ll be back soon with our full review.

LEGO Star Wars 75413 Republic Juggernaut: what’s all the fuss about, then? [Review & Analysis]

Better late than never, right? We’ve done reviews on almost all of the sets in LEGO’s Star Wars summer range. But astute readers may have noticed one set missing, one that’s caused quite the stir in the community: 75413 Republic Juggernaut. It has 813 pieces, and includes 8 minifigures, including the long-awaited Galactic Marines and Commander Bacara. But it’s had something of a frosty reception so far, largely down to its price of US $159.99 | CAN $199.99 | UK £139.99. So, finally, let’s take a look at it ourselves, and crunch some numbers to see if said reception is justified!

LEGO Star Wars 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT revealed, coming to a galaxy near you in time for the holidays [News]

A long time ago, in the galaxy of Denmark, LEGO created a Christmas-themed X-Wing fighter as an employee-exclusive gift set. This year, LEGO is letting everyone get in on the holiday fun with LEGO Star Wars 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT, an irresistible set we never saw coming. Over the summer, Star Wars LEGO sets rankled many fans with steep prices on underwhelming sets (excellent UCS Slave-1 aside). Containing roughly 700 pieces for $60, this holiday remix of one of the galaxy’s most popular vehicles offers welcome value. True, there look to be any printed parts or new molds, the concept and execution are a true delight and Gingerbread Vader looks ready to jingle all the way to the Hoth system. What do you think? LEGO Arkham, Pirates, and Hogsmeade lead a packed September of new sets [News]

Summer’s over, September is here, and you know what that means: businesses around the world will start marketing their Christmas wares inexplicably early. LEGO is no different, with their selection of advent calendars is among the many sets hitting shelves this month. There’s a bit of a different flavour to some of them though! Minecraft and Frozen join the fray with their own dedicated calendars. Even 76300 Arkham Asylum below – one of the most exciting new releases – has an advent flavour to it, although you’ll need to wait until September 9 for your pre-order to come through.

TBB NEWS AND REVIEWS Longtime fans of Jack Sparrow and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise have a lot to get excited about with the announcement of the new LEGO Icons set presenting the Black Pearl, or as LEGO calls it, Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship, the all black cursed ship with the tattered sails which was featured in several of the movies. Another favorite franchise also revealed a new set coming later this year, the adorable Mogwai Gizmo, from the 80s film Gremlins. LEGO has been on something of a Gen X nostalgia kick lately. We’ve had sets from Transformers, Jaws, and now, we have a throwback to a comedy-horror classic from the ’80s. It’s thanks to the Ideas line this time – specifically, the ‘If We Could Turn Back Time’ building challenge. Fan designer Terauma took the grand prize with their model of Gizmo from the iconic ’80s flick Gremlins. As a reward, it got turned into an official set! 21361 Gizmo contains 1,125 pieces, and when it launches on October 1, it will retail for US $109.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £89.99.

LEGO Nike 43021 Nike Dunk Trickshot and 43010 Nike Slam Dunk – Double Dribble [Review]

Hi friends! This is Jarrett (@wilderland.builds), here to talk about the two newest additions to the LEGO/Nike collaboration that kicked off earlier this year: Nike Dunk Trickshot and Nike Slam Dunk. I’ll preface this by saying that I’m probably not the target customer for these sets, but I am a pretty serious basketball fan and was looking forward to seeing if they could change my mind and capture my interest with these sets. LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship – A shiny Black Pearl [Review]

It’s been 22 years since Johnny Depp donned dreadlocks and eyeliner and put on his best Keith Richards impression and sailed into cinematic record books with the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. If you thought that name was clunky, hold LEGO’s grog. Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship brings back the Black Pearl, last seen in brick in 2011, as a premium display set. Is it worth every piece of eight to add this set to your LEGO fleet? Guest reviewer Jacob Manahan got a chance to dig up this treasured ship early and is here with our review.

The LEGO Group shares earnings report for first half of 2025 – double-digit growth, doubling down on strategic investment [News]

Today, the LEGO Group shared its earnings report for the first half of 2025, revealing double-digit growth all around. Overall sales are up 13%, Revenue up 12%, Operating Profit up 10%. LEGO also highlights expanded global supply chain improvements and a continued commitment to sustainability. Revenue growth was matched by an even greater investment in the company’s future with new facilities and an expanded global team.

These numbers come at an interesting time for adult fans and readers of this site as we’re in the midst of LEGO announcing many high-priced sets for adult collectors for the second half of the year. It can be hard to celebrate the company’s success when the lived experience of many fans is that prices are outpacing their ability to keep up with the hobby. While the rise in the number of 18+ display sets with high piece counts and this summer’s Star Wars inflation have left many fans frustrated, less AFOL-focused lines like Ninjago, Dreamzzz, Friends, and City/Space, as well as the Botanicals line, show that, for creativity and play, there are still amazing and affordable sets to be had.

Set sail again for the Caribbean with LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship [News]

The Black Pearl? Didn’t she last sail off LEGO shelves back in 2012? Well, ye best start believing in ghost stories, as the Black Pearl is back, bigger and bolder, as LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship. In addition to an awkward name change, the new Black Pearl (let’s agree that she’s still called that) is assembled from 2,862 pieces, up from 804 in her maiden voyage, adding detail, a larger scale, and a display stand. At 25 inches in both length and height, the Black Pearl is comparable in scale to 71042 Silent Mary, the last big Pirates of the Caribbean set (and one of my “grail” sets that I kick myself for not getting back in the day).

Priced at $379.99, Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate ship continues a trend of bigger sets and bigger price tags, joining Batman, Harry Potter, Willy Wonka, and Wicked in a crowded September lineup. We’ll be back soon with our full review to give you our take on whether ye’ll be wantin’ to commandeer the Black Pearl when she arrives on September 12 for LEGO Insiders and September 15 to all.

BrickCon 2025 is fast approaching! Not only is BrickCon the longest-running LEGO fan exhibit in the world, it’s also your chance to meet and build with members of The Brothers Brick.
