It’s time to put on music. It’s time to light the lights! It’s time to open up avents with your Brothers Brick friend tonight. We have six calendar gifts to reveal from Friends, Disney, City, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Spider-Man. So join us for this most sensational, inspirational, adventational, calendarial show!
As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 8…
Friends offers a small build of a mailbox and street lamp so that Paisley and Olly can mail their letters to Santa. From Disney we get some kind of bust and a box with jewels and, what I assume must be a dinglehopper. Wow! Those are really rare.
Harry Potter is provides a pair of Chistrmas crackers to pull apart while City brings a scooter and helmet.
Meanwhile, in a galaxy far far away we get a UCS (Ultimate Chibi Series) Jabba’s Sail Barge while Spidey speeds in with a race car.
I’m still floored that LEGO would put something as special as a Dinglehopper into an advent calendar, but I’m no expert on what makes a good gift. Let’s consult the panel.
Theo: NPU for the Christmas crackers! Do they come with a bad joke inside too?
[No, bad jokes are not included. Kyle will provide.]
Daniel: The postal box is a nice touch. I thought those crackers were the world’s largest finger traps.
Kyle: Hardest day yet for me to choose a favorite. I love the Christmas crackers, the Sail Barge, and the Spider-mobile. I think HP ends up with the edge, though.
[Kyle, you had one job! Where is your bad joke today?]
Bre: Yup, yup, love the crackers. Nice to see something unique in these. Microbuild vehicles are decent too.
No one else seeems that impressed by the Dinglehopper. Still, a cracking day all around.
Since Kyle didn’t bring the bad jokes today, we’ll have to let our minifigs see if they can find any inside those crackers.
Editor’s note: Alright, Jake. You asked for it! If you’re supposed to kiss while under mistletoe, I’d hate to think what you have to do under a dinglehopper!
What delights will tomorrow bring? Come back tomorrow for six more advent gifts. And be sure to share your thoughts on today’s offerings in the comments!
