2022 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 15

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, it’s the holiday season, but it’s also the return of our annual LEGO advent calendar extravaganza. We’ll be opening our calendar windows  every day in the run-up to Christmas. Our team will also share their thoughts, comments, observations and jokes about each day’s builds!

We have five advent calendars this year, across the City, Friends, Star Wars, Marvel (specifically Guardians of the Galaxy) and Harry Potter themes. Let’s get right into it and see what’s hiding behind the doors of day 15, shall we?

The Friends window has what I’ll call a tin-can shy, for want of a better term. It includes a shooter to allow for you to play it yourself, and it does sort of work. We get a scarecrow out of the City calendar.

Another spaceship that wouldn’t stay still for my photos from Star Wars – a TIE interceptor to dogfight yesterday’s B-wing. Harry Potter’s offering is a pretty cool Nymphadora Tonks minifigure, and Marvel gives us a giant candy cane.

Bart: That snowman/scarecrow is creeping me out… How is this festive?!

CJ: It’s a small thing, but the 1×1 round plate in red at the end of the candy cane build makes it feel a lot more ‘finished’ than you normally see with these builds.

Ben: Friends and City provide a couple of targets for that snowball cannon today! Tonks is a great figure, I’m looking forward to adding this to my collection.

The micro builds are pretty solid from Star Wars this year. The TIE/i is fantastic.

Kyle: That TIE interceptor is pretty rad! Might be my favourite of the micro SW ships this year.

Chris: OK, this is what microscale ships should look like. This TIE interceptor is awesome.

We went almost 20 years without a Nymphadora Tonks minifigure, and now this is the third in two years. At first glance, she’s very similar to the one in 12 Grimmauld Place, just without leg printing, but the torso is actually new too.

Much like London buses, you spend ages waiting for a Tonks minifigure, and then three show up at once. That torso is ripe for re-use in a steampunk build if you ask me.
