2022 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 11

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, it’s the holiday season, but it’s also the return of our annual LEGO advent calendar extravaganza. We’ll be opening our calendar windows  every day in the run-up to Christmas. Our team will also share their thoughts, comments, observations and jokes about each day’s builds!

We have five advent calendars this year, across the City, Friends, Star Wars, Marvel (specifically Guardians of the Galaxy) and Harry Potter themes. Let’s get right into it and see what’s hiding behind the doors of day 11, shall we?

For day 11, we get an ice rink in the Friends calendar, although it is on the small side. City gifts us a snow blower that, judging by the colour scheme, belongs to Raze from yesterday.

We have our fourth Tatooinian build in a row out of the Star Wars door, with the V-35 that appeared briefly in Mos Eisley. Guardians of the Galaxy also has a small spaceship that looks familiar, but I can’t quite place it. I think it belonged to a baddie. Meanwhile, at Hogwarts, we have won the Tri-Wizard cup!

Bart: One can never have enough tri-wizard tournament cups.

Kyle: Ah, about time the V-35 Courier gets a miniature version.

Chris: Ooh, it’s rare we get a Star Wars model of something that’s never been done before, but that microscale V-35 Courier is lovely. Even the three studs on the back work as part of the design. And a ZAMBONI!

Ben: City and Friends are becoming complimentary calendars, ice rink and ice machine! A great speeder in SW but the Friends set wins best build for me today.

CJ: That is one tiny skating pond. And the Guardians build is… Something? Iconic or recognisable, though, it is not.

Glad I’m not the only one who didn’t recognise the Guardians build – I was worried I’d get my nerd license revoked. Still, there’s plenty of calendar left to go…

I believe the Guardians build is two separate ships – the bottom one is the mining ship from Vol 1, and the top one is the escape pod from Infinity War :)

I think the Guardians build is actually supposed to be two drones – that’s how it’s shown on the box, anyway. The instructions could definitely stand to be clearer.

    Hi,
according to the cover art on the calendar, the Marvel entry consists of 2 separate items (flying drones).

Since no one else commented on it, just thought I’d mention that Raze’s broom from the prior day can attach to the black clips on the back of the Lego City Zamboni! :-)

Absolutely love your page!! Thank you so much for doing each of the advent reveals on the same page. The link for day 12 doesn’t seem to be working.
