Six LEGO Harry Potter sets officially revealed including Knight Bus, Triwizard Tournament and Advent Calendar [News]

LEGO has officially revealed the entire upcoming wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets, five of which will be available this summer starting June 1st. The sets are based on the third and fourth films in the Harry Potter series, The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire. As an extra magical bonus, LEGO also revealed a Harry Potter-themed Advent Calendar for this upcoming holiday season, available starting September 1st.

Last week we shared images of three LEGO Harry Potter sets revealed early by Amazon.it, but now we have official photos and details of each set in the summer wave. New sets include the vibrant purple Knight Bus as well as a task from the Triwizard Tournament. Standout details include new pumpkins, a brick-built dragon and metallic golden egg as well as the Yule Ball.

(Spoiler alert: The photos of the LEGO Harry Potter Advent calendar as well as set description revealing its contents are included as the last item in the article. If you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t scroll all the way to the bottom!)

They’ve done a much better job on the Knight Bus this time. I can see I’m going to have to steal some parts and techniques from KB3 when I get around to making a proper 8-wide version. Would have been nice to see a full set of images for the Advent calendar, though.

  2. Mattias G

As a city builder I hope to see those new 3 x 3 window frames (as seen on the Knight bus) in more colours! I also noticed new 6 x 6 window frames in one of the new Friends sets. Nice.

For the Advent calendar, are they talking about the literal architect from the Legos Hogwarts or the architect of the castle in the books? Would it be one of the first headmasters?

  4. Purple Dave

A quick search on “Hogwarts Architect” yields info on a statue in the entrance hall of an unnamed individual who designed Hogwarts Castle with assistance from Rowena Ravenclaw. This statue is supposed to be visible in the 2nd, 5th, and 6th movies, and is holding a tiny Hogwarts in one hand and architect stuff in the other. Most likely they plan to include a minifig of the actual person to go with the four House Founders from the mini Hogwarts, but it’s possible this will be a minifig of the statue.
