Wonder Woman at the ready

Polish builder Lucas Aligierski takes us to Themyscira with his LEGO Wonder Woman, a model he sweetly dedicated to his wife. The model belongs to a class of sculptures that expertly blends traditional LEGO System elements with constraction-scale elements like those produced for Bionicle and Hero Factory. The pieces used lend themselves to the very organic, muscled look of everyone’s favorite DC warrior princess. The sculpted look is appropriate for a character born from clay.

Diana’s unkempt tresses are achieved with a combination of LEGO clips and tail pieces including black elephant tails and dinosaur tail mid– and end sections. I also really like the Giant’s Causeway-like hexagonal rock formations incorporated into the base, it literally elevates this model to another level.

Lucas’ work has been previously featured on TBB as Manufactura Jarema- you might remember his rendition of the Xenomorph Queen from the Aliens cinematic saga. You might say he has a penchant for crafting memorable models of empowered, iconic female characters.
