LEGO Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1

I am, admittedly, not terribly into racing, and the only reason I pay attention is to avoid Daytona in February. I do, however, have a deep appreciation for a beautiful car.

Malte Dorowski presents a stunning rendition of this 1974 beauty. The photo’s descriptions tell me “this car started what would become a long string of turbocharged 911 based racecars.” I’m going to take his word for it.

The family photo is just as gorgeous:

“I couldn’t find the sports car of my dreams, so I built it myself.”

George Panteleon (ZetoVince) invokes the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche for his recently revised Porsche 930. Being a community-minded guy, George has also thoughtfully posted instructions so that you…yes you…can make one for yourself. Stop dreamin’ and start drivin’, constant viewer.

Get them now though, because you never know when MOCpages will have another blackout.

Porsche 930 Revised

Maybe it’s the moonlight, or the champagne talking, but I think we can squeeze in one more for the motorheads out there.

Gulf Porsche 917

Flickr user bobalexander! has not only built a car with a very non-LEGO shape, but he has done so in a very tricky colour. Even with the limited parts availability of Maersk blue, the iconic shape and colouring of this classic racer are perfectly captured.

We had previously featured Malte Dorowski’s 917, and it is always neat to see the different tactics taken by builders on the same source material.

Be sure to click through all of the photos to see the details and working components of Bob’s build.

One ride and you’ll understand why most rocket scientists are German.

Back in December of 2012 Malte Dorowski added to his fine stable of Porsche models with this Japanese tuned RWB 964.

Porsche 911 Carrera by Arvo

It’s always a treat see a new creation by the Arvo brothers. They’re known to build great cars, and this one is no different. The slanted hood and roof give the model its realistic shape. Check out the gallery on Brickshelf for pictures of the chassis that features working suspension.
