Reto Geiger’s Droid Trifighter

And straight out from the Star Wars movies, we have Reto Geiger’s Droid Trifighter:

Reto is well known in the community as a master of the UCS-scale, which basically means that he is great at building realistic replicas of the ships from the movies. Check out his UCS gallery for more examples of that.

Welcome to the Space City.

João Figueiredo’s space city is, well, a fascinating display of LEGO’s official space themes. Ah, the nostalgia.

Spacey christmas presents – Thomas E. Dewey By Adrian Drake

Hey all! There have been a pretty good output of nice models during the holidays – in addition to spending time with family and friends, it seems people are taking the time to finish old projects. A good thing! Lets start by taking a look at Adrian Drake’s Thomas E. Dewey, the steam powered airship:

 Thomas E. Dewey

The Dewey has been under construction for a long time – the earliest pictures (depicting the starting construction of the hangar bay) came up on Adrian’s flickr in May 2006. Heck, the smaller crafts this beast carries were finished in April! With a unique, sculpted exterior and a deliciously detailed interior, this ship is nothing but a work of art.

Unit 186’s AT-RT

Unit 186, who is active on flickr, brickshelf and on a recently started lego blog called Brick Blogue, has built himself a nifty AT-RT:

Patrick Yrizarry’s Legcutus of Borg

I feel like an odd person to cover the sci-fi section sometimes – besides liking to look at spaceships, I know nothing about Star Wars, Star Trek or basically any other sci-fi series for that matter. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate this fantastic sculpture made by Patrick Yrizarry depicting a certain Borg from Star Trek:

Patrick has announced it on Lugnet, so drop by to give him a comment!

Vong? Vong me up!

Do you know what this is?

I can honestly say that I have no clue. Steve Vargo does, though – he claims that it is a species from a Star Wars expanded universe called Vong. No matter what though, his lego rendition of it just blew my mind. Just take a look at the imposing stature, the horns, and the snake-thing he’s holding!

Steve has got a total of 1, 2, 3, 4 pictures up at his flickr account – go check them all out!

Update: Steve now has uploaded a full brickshelf folder with lots more pictures. I’ve also been informed that these are really called Yuuzhan Vong, and were created as an enemy for the Jedi’s in the Star Wars expanded universe. The model was based on a frame made by the now dissapeared (and almost legendary in the mecha community) japanese builder Gla Gla. And I still think Steve’s LEGO rendition is excellent ;-)

Reto Geiger’s UCs-scale Tie Fighter

Regardless of you are into Star Wars or not, it is impossible to not love Reto Geiger’s UCS-scale Tie Fighter.

It’s even got some mad light-up action!

The Gothica approaches.

A little something you might have seen in the latest issue of Brickjournal, Mark Stafford has finally put up pictures of the Gothica:

It fits in the same vein as his Big Boys Toys – lots of small stuff in a big, nice, package. Click on over and behold – there’s a lot to see there.

“Alas, poor Yorick...”

Legohaulic created a cool looking skeleton for yesterdays Halloween:

Dan Rubin’s Lightning

Dan Rubin graces us with yellow goodness called Lightning. I like the texture some of the studs create. Also note the symbol on the wings and the nice engine:

Daniel Major’s microscale helicarrier

Got some time over? Then take a look at Daniel Major’s (ApophisV to most) very cool microscale helicarrier:

Now, as awesome as that is, I almost think I like the fleet it carries more. He says that he is planning on making minifig versions of some or all of these – and I just can’t wait to see that!

FoxPrimus’ Habrok

FoxPrimus, who goes under the name of Todd in real life, brings us a fantastic craft by the name of Habrok. (Habrok was essentially the king of crows in norse mythology, and played various minor roles.)
