Do you hear that, readers? That’s the sound of Christmas getting ever closer! And what better way to count down to the big day than with day 9 of TBB’s LEGO advent calendar roundup? That’s just what we’re doing, so why not join us as we open up the City, Friends, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel calendars on offer this year?

As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 9…

With the holiday season come Christmas carols, and our third City minifigure is a carol singer. We’ve got another dog in Friends. The Autumn minidoll we got on day one is getting rather outnumbered by her pets…

No such worries in Marvel – our fourth minifigure in nine days, and it’s Captain America! Another protagonist in the Wizarding World, too: Hermione completes the trio. Our battle droid gets a STAP to zip around the Star Wars calendar on.

Lino: You’ve heard of elf on a shelf, now get ready for… Cap on a STAP!

Ben: Hat, STAP, Cap! The STAP is a great little build and I love that hat/hair piece. New to me.

Kyle: Single Trooper Aerial Platform vs. another great HP hat. Sorry STAP, but you’ve been stopped. Petrificus Totalus!

Daniel: The STAP is a great model and justifies the battle droid inclusion. More HP characters in normal clothes is another great addition.

Bart: Love the Christmas caroller, and Hermione looks great with the red beanie.

In this season of giving, it’s nice to see the Star Wars minifigs letting each other have a go on their respective presents. I’m annoyed I didn’t think of Cap on a STAP though. He might have made a better pilot than CT-24/7 here.
