That’s just what we’re doing, so why not join us as we open up the City, Friends, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel calendars on offer this year?

As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 4…

At last, LEGO City gives us a minifigure! And it’s a doozy, an ice hockey player. Friends has a kennel for yesterday’s puppy dog.

We’re getting festive early on in Star Wars with a pit droid dressed as Santa Claus! Harry Potter’s wanted poster is distinctly less festive, apart from the snow on it. Marvel’s day four ‘build’ is a bunch of golden web pieces for Spidey.

Ben: For when there’s no original Gonk designs left: the pit droid! I really dislike seeing the energy effects as a day of their own, feels like a cheat. I think we all know the star of today is the hockey player though.

Lino: Not sure if I like the hockey guy or grandma’s golden doilies better.

Bart: Looks like Sirius Black is on the naughty list yet again! To me marvel is the ultimate let down. It’s just parts, no construction needed!

Kyle: “Pit Droid Santa” sounds like a holiday song by the Beach Boys.

My time as a Golden Gopher obliges me to vote for hockey whenever possible. That’s one fig I might actually have to get a hold of.

Daniel: That Star Wars droid is a hot mess, but wow, nice full hockey gear from City. And another table for scrap build from Friends. They could have at least added some flair to the world’s most plain doghouse.

I don’t know, Daniel – I quite like the goofy Pit Droid Santa! It’s an easy target for Spider-man now that he’s got those web elements. Tony Stark doesn’t seem too impressed at his understudy’s gift-stealing antics though. With great power, etc, etc.
