3 new LEGO Star Wars sets from The Mandalorian for summer 2021 unveiled [News]

Today LEGO unveiled three new Star Wars sets. The sets feature characters and vehicles from the popular Disney+ series The Mandalorian. All three sets will be available to purchase globally on August 1. There were also two more LEGO Star Wars sets from The Clone Wars revealed at the beginning of June based on the animated series.

LEGO Star Wars 75311 Imperial Armored Marauder | 478 Pieces | US $39.99 | UK £34.99

The smallest of the three, LEGO Star Wars 75311 Imperial Armored Marauder includes 4 minifigures: Greef Karga, 2 Stormtroopers and a brand-new Artillery Stormtrooper. The vehicle measures 8 cm (3 in.) high, 19 cm (7.5 in.) long and 10 cm (4 in.) wide, and has stud shooters to recreate the scenes from the series.

LEGO Star Wars 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship | 593 Pieces | US $49.99 | UK £44.99

Boba Fett’s Starship is one of the smallest versions of Slave I released in the last 10 years (excluding the promotional polybags and magazine gifts). There are 2 minifigures in the set, Boba Fett and the Mandalorian. Boba Fett comes with a blaster while The Mandalorian comes with his blaster rifle and Beskar spear. The set also includes a carbonite brick to increase the play value. The ship is 8 cm (3.5 in.) high, 20 cm (8 in.) long and 20 cm (8 in.) wide. The transporter vehicle included in the set makes it possible to display the ship in an upright position.

LEGO Star Wars 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser | 1,336 Pieces | US $159.99 | UK £149.99

The largest set of the wave is the Imperial Light Cruiser, which is the first-ever LEGO model of the ship. It comes with 5 minifigures — previously released the Mandalorian and Cara Dune; and brand new Fennec Shand, Moff Gideon, and a Dark Trooper. The set also includes the figure of the fan-favorite character, the Child (Grogu). Imperial Light Cruiser measures 13 cm (5 in.) high, 58 cm (22.5 in.) long and 22 cm (8.5 in.) wide and is filled with many details to recreate the final episode of the series.

I don’t know what’s more disappointing. The Darksaber that is just a black lightsaber? Or the Boba Fett – they took the time to create a completely new minifig, even including arm printing and a new helmet (fewer dings/scratches and red stripes instead of yellow, so it’s definitely a new print), BUT got the colors wrong since his Mando S2 paint job very clearly has his helmet matching his chestplate… so it should be dark green not sand green.

That said, the Marauder is a must-buy for the new Karga and the yellow stormtrooper. Might try to find Fennec Shand on Bricklink later this year… expensive I’m sure but less than US $160….

What’s the deal with Bobba Fett’s Starship? It is and always will be called SLAVE 1!

Very surprising that they got Boba Fett’s repainted helmet color wrong. And very funny that he’s towing his entire tiny spaceship on the back of that ground craft!

Just realized they rebranded Slave I to Boba Fett’s starship (for obvious reasons)
