2020 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 20

Happy holidays to all of our fellow LEGO builders! As is tradition, we at The Brothers Brick will be opening our advent calendars as we count down to Christmas. We’ll also be sharing commentary on each one, which will be both insightful and hilarious!

This year we have new Harry Potter, Star Wars, City and Friends advent calendars to open. We will be sharing images of the new calendars every day through Christmas, and hope that you’ll join us! Let’s see what there is to open on Day 20.

Thirsty? Get a drink from the potentially non-alcoholic table from the Harry Potter calendar. Then hurry on over to the Star Wars calendar to make sure the software in your shield generator is up to date.

CJ: This looks to me like the other half of the table from day 18. It feels like a less exciting version, though, and it lacks any of the greenery that would have given it a holiday point. I suppose if they had mirrored the building, though, days 18 and 20 would have been identical and more lackluster as a result. At least this feels like a “related but similar” expansion. Star Wars gives us a nice bit of scenery in a tiny Hoth shield generator thingie. Simple, but recognizable, just like a good microbuild should be.

Bart: Half a table filled with booze and a plate holder device for your Christmas buffet.

Lino: Let’s not talk.

Benjamin: Luke must have decorated this part of Hoth.

After checking on your shields, make sure your City truck is working and that your Friends snowman is complete.

Adam: I laughed when I first saw the snowman because it looked like a propane tank. But these are both nice little creations. No complaints here.

CJ: Similar building style again unifies this tiny truck cab with the rest of the micro-vehicles in the City calendar. The colors are nice, too. The latest take on a snowman build makes use of an usual part – a cowl base from Ninjago. It’s a different look, but I agree with Adam that it reminds me of a propane tank.  A white 2×4 plate as snowy ground would have made today feel a bit more complete. There are only a couple of days left. Has the Friends calendar been saving up parts for some higher-end final builds? One can only hope.

Lino: It’s a nice ride and all but I doubt that snowman will make it to Florida.

Alexander: That’s one fancy snowman right here. A stylish collar and a cylinder hat. A man of class, for sure.

Benjamin: I get Dickensian vibes from that snowman, for sure.

Though we’re not done opening every day of the calendar, we can at least start the party!

Speaking of party, join the fun again tomorrow as we open day 21 of the 2020 LEGO Advent Calendars!

Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought propane tank when my daughter showed me the snow man.

The shield generator took me awhile to figure out what it was supposed to be.
