Welcome to Day 7 of our LEGO Advent Calendar countdown. Each day, we’ll reveal the three mini-builds from the LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars, and LEGO Friends 2017 advent calendars along with commentary from our team.
If you’re opening one (or more) of these advent calendars along with us, we’ve made sure the pictures and commentary on each day’s models will be behind a jump and posted in the evening every day, so we don’t accidentally ruin the surprise. Will Day 7 make an impression?
For Day 7, we have a brown sled from City, a First Order stormtrooper minifigure from Star Wars, and a festive puppy pedestal from Friends.
Dave: The City sled’s brown hockey sticks are worth it for the entire advent calendar, having only ever appeared in white before. The First Order Stormtrooper is pretty common, but it is always nice to have a few more. The Friends festive half-dog house is pretty cruel to the puppy we got yesterday. He can’t reach his bone way up there!
Edwinder: Snowy day outside for two buddies to go sledding! Looks like Stormie has a new two-legged, pink shoed, one-eyed Cyclops friend. When did Star Wars get so fun? Rian Johnson, we love you!
Elspeth: Ooo, the reddish brown hockey sticks for the rustic wooden toboggan makes City a winner today. Friends seems to be starting a new Christmas tradition with the festive reindeer femur on the mantelpiece. And someone forgot to tell Star Wars it’s Christmas!
Luka: The hockey sticks are an amazing addition to the calendar, the Star Wars figure is basic and the Friends build, while it has many useful parts, is very boring.
Daniel: For the parts, that sled is BOSS. This makes me wish I also purchased the city calendar. Sabine and the trooper should go for a ride together down the snowboard slope.
Andrew: Pugs are clingy creatures. It’s no wonder the pug from Day 5 showed up again, uninvited. Watch out behind you, Stormie!
Edwinder: Waitaminute… where did the pug come from? Walked over from Day 5 to steal the show from the pink-footed cyclops? Also, don’t Stormtroopers get paid by the hour? Someone from the Imperial Accounts department is going to hear about this!
Dave: We really needed to combine a few day’s worth for a decent action shot… plus TBB is a pug-friendly environment.
Luka: It makes you wonder what kind of dog you have, when it prefers chasing Stormtroopers over chewing bones.
Daniel: Hold on to your pugs, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
