Announcing a LEGO convention for those in the southernWestern parts of the USA.
Registration is now open for the second annual Bricks by the Bay, taking place March 25th – 27th at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Last year’s convention was agreed to be a great success by all who attended, and this year’s takes place at a new venue with over twice the space! Also, this is the same weekend originally planned for Brickfest 2011 (now cancelled) so if you had planned to attend Brickfest, consider making a trip to California instead. Registration is capped at 400 attendees and almost 100 have already signed up, so register now to secure your badge. Early registration discount offered until February 25th.
For more info check out the Bricks by the Bay site. There is also a call for presentations; if you’re interested in hosting a talk, break-out session, or special activity, contact Paul Sinasohn here.
You uh, got your US geography wrong there mate. I think you mean the western part.
I thought California bordered onto Mexico… surely that’s South? But I’ll change it.
The weather is fantastic here! Get away from the storms and snow and head to sunny Ca for a Con
@gambort: Technically, yes. But when Americans read “southern,” the connotation is “The South” — Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi… Thus, Westerners on the Pacific Coast are likely to bridle a bit at being lumped in with Southerners. ;-)
In that case I got my socio-geography wrong and my geography was perfectly correct ;) I guess that’s where ‘Pacific NW’ and ‘Pacific SW’ come in. We have it easy for population centers: East Coast, Tasmania or Perth… and NZ ;)
New Zealand: Australia’s Canada.
I unthinkingly bridled a tad at “southern.” But I’m about as southwest as you can get in the continental US and to be fair I can almost see Mexico from my office break room in Downtown San Diego. Does that qualify me to make foreign policy?
Just to rub it in to anyone north of here: crystal clear skies and 70 degrees celsius for the past 3 weeks.
Thankyou guys for not sullying this news report with editorial errors and pointless chatter. And for the record, our country is divided into three well-defined parts: East Coast, West Coast, and Other. ;-)
@ Thanel:
“…70 degrees celsius for the past 3 weeks.”
Poor bastards must be cooking alive, I mean that’s hotter than Death Valley ;)
^ no, he’s correct. I caught the San Diego weather forecast this morning and it was “Scattered fire storms and a high chance of spontaneous Chihuahua combustion; aluminum umbrellas recommended”.
Screw science! Who needs it?!?
Says the person in a high-rise.
“and a high chance of spontaneous Chihuahua combustion”
Guess it’s not all bad then…
