Obviously, we’re all still reeling from the official reveal of the new LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star. So, while we’ve all got Star Wars on the brain, what better time could there be to travel on down to Mos Eisley for a cold glass of blue milk? Don’t know how to get to Mos Eisley? No problem. Sentinel_Brix can be our tour guide, starting with this fantastic diorama scene. Why, this sandy city has got it all, from salvaged scrap for sale to unscrupulous scoundrels and bounty hunters who’ll stop at nothing to… You know what? I’m starting to think maybe we were safer on the Death Star. Let’s get outta here.

This Star Wars C-Wing is an A+ in our books
LEGO role-play communities fuse building with storytelling, and one of the biggest rpgs going is Star Wars: Factions. Sentinel_Brix has been spinning epic space opera adventures with original characters and vehicles in the sandbox George Lucas started. The builder’s latest addition is a New Republic era fighter from the Incom-FreiTek Corporation, makers of the iconic X-Wing. The C-wing is rookie friendly and sports the livery of Sentinel’s Flame of Zhar syndicate.
Sentinel’s dessign is heavily-inspired by concept art from Jason Hazelrot. My Favorite feature that the builder added is the unique landing configuration. And of course all of the encyclopedic lore!
Pirate the galaxy in style with the Typhoon and Tarantula starships
Official Star Wars media runs the gamut from abysmal to sublime, but the best Star Wars stories will always be the ones that exist in our heads. Perhaps no other fictional universe has spawned as many fan works where foundational canon serves as a launchpad for creativity. In the LEGO community, RPGs like Star Wars: Factions are collaborative playgrounds for stories told with visual accompaniment in the form of original builds. Sentinel_Brix is one of the more prolific members of that community, leaning heavily into the “opera” side of space opera with a complex serial story with a sprawling cast. One of the builder’s latest arcs features pirates and includes original designs for a galleon and starfighter.
Per the builder’s lore, the DY-76 “Typhoon” is a starfighter from the Clone Wars era built by Koensayr Manufacturing. If the vessel’s cockpit looks familiar, it’s because it comes from the same company the made the Y-Wing. I especially like the biplane wing design and the color details in sand red and light blue.

A starfighter that’s hench
Star Wars Outlaws, the latest video big-budget video game in the Star Wars universe, released last August bringing with it great new ship designs for fans to turn into models! Sentinel_Brix built a spot-on LEGO version of the DF-11 Scourge used by pirates and gangs in the game. Brix made sure to add all the tubes and greebles you’d expect to find on a beat-to-hell fighter in the service of a criminal syndicate including a pair of hot rod exhaust pipes (like those on this Diesel Daredevil) venting out the back. It’s got everything you need to arm a bunch of henchmen, mooks, minions, stooges – goons even – and general flunkies to plunder the hyperspace lanes for profit!
