LEGO Ganesha, remover of creative blocks

The LEGO group has expanded its audience and introduced builders around the world to new stories through its Chinese New Year and Monkey Kid lines. Wouldn’t it be exciting to see sets inspired by Indian culture beyond models of the Taj Mahal? In the meantime, Łukasz Alagierski draws on a colorful mix of parts old and new to present Lord Ganesha, Remover of Obstacles and bringer of luck and new beginnings. Łukasz depicts the elephant god holding the traditional symbols of an an axe, pasha, lotus, and a tray of sweets (that his trunk drifts towards). Surrounded by flowers in a dozen colors and sitting atop a Scala quilt, this Ganesha perfectly captures the look of a Hindu altar scene.

The cutest cherry bomb this side of the Mushroom Kingdom

When you think about it, the Super Mario world has a lot of role reversal in it. Suddenly, humble plumbers are superheroes, mushrooms become a deadly nuisance, and cherry bombs are made to look so harmless you could almost describe them as cute. Make no mistake, those wide eyes are those of an explosive killer: the Bob-omb, as recreated here by Łukasz Alagierski. The bulk of it uses a technique known as the Lowell Sphere, with a few additions to recreate the features of this cold-blooded killer. The cherry on top of this cherry bomb is the fuse, made by twisting LEGO string into a rope!

Another LEGO xenomorph? Keep ’em coming!

I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of seeing LEGO models of the Xenomorph from Alien. For one, it’s a design that’s as iconic as it is innovative. And when you get builders like Łukasz Alagierski flexing their creative muscles, the result is truly epic! It’s actually not his first time building this extraterrestrial, but it’s undoubtedly the one that captures its skeletal, bio-mechanical nature the best. Even the stand has a touch of HR Giger about it!
