I love a good microscale LEGO creation, and this model by flambo14 delivers in a big way. There’s a pretty well established trend in the LEGO community where builders challenge themselves (and each other) to create original vehicles and environments inspired by a specific minifigure, but this may well be the first environment built to suit a LEGO Construction Figure. The scene, taken from the latest Marvel Studios summer blockbuster, depicts the celestial being Galactus at his most down to earth, yet somehow simultaneously with his head in the clouds. Flambo14 places an unaltered Galactus model from LEGO set #76316 in a custom cityscape that much better reflects the celestial giant’s true size than the set’s accompanying minifigures suggest. Smart use of textures and a limited and contrasting color palette make this mini metropolis marvelous.

The popcorn here is fantastic
The recent trend of collectable popcorn buckets has divided film fans – you either love them or hate them. But henry_gouw has solved the debate amongst the crew at The Brothers Brick by building the bucket from LEGO. But, of course, we’re all in total agreement about The Fantastic Four’s adorable robot sidekick, H.E.R.B.I.E., present with his ticket to enjoy the show.
LEGO is perfect for fantastic retro style
One of the most notable attributes of The Fantastic 4: First Steps is its retro style. And Joey Klusnick uses the hard corners of the LEGO brick to wonderfully recreate this retro feel. Joey has kept the hard corner of bricks and plates the create the main shape of each character, keeping curves to draw out notable features: Reed’s hair, Jonny’s flame, Ben’s big legs. As Joey asks, who is your favorite member of the team?
The Famous Family of Four and quite Fantastic too
BrickHeadz builds work pretty well for all things coherent and familiar, such as consistent uniforms or builds of famous characters. This fantastic family of four by Adam Dodge stands out among the usual BrickHeadz characters because they each have a bit of a unique attribute to show off, from the fiery human torch with his transformation to flames and the Invisible Woman showing off her powers with a partially invisible leg to Dr Reed Richards aka Mr Fantastic flexing his arm.
The unique piece here is the Thing, which breaks away from the typical BrickHeadz template in size and works well with the brick studs exposed. I wanted to call out to Adam that I did notice his slip-in of Captain Salazar’s forehead printed piece, which works quite well on the base as cracks due to the weight of Benjamin Grimm.
