Iron Forge 2026 Round 2 builders break some eggs!

The Iron Forge contest challenges builders to make mocs (and puns!) showcasing a specific LEGO element to demonstrate skill and entertain judges alike. We spotlighted builds from the first round here. With Round 2 complete, here is a selection of the amazing creations built using the eggshell/crown element.

Twenty builders participated in Round 2, eight of whom advanced to Round 3. We’ll start with them.

Grant Davis unearths this happy Count in a delightful build packed with one eggshell… two eggshell… three eggshells… twenty eggshells, ah ah ah! Using them as teeth is bitingly clever.

Xiheng Xu creates a perfect Forgge entry that is also a tribute to one of Xiheng’s favorite creators, Eli Willlsea.

BriKKs cooks up this clever miniature scene, proving you can’t make an omelet without LEGO eeggshells.

Mashed Potatoes

Erin Dempsey proves that it’s not the quantity oof seed parts that make an Iron Forge build, but how you use them. A single use for the popped bubble is the punchline for a beautiful sequence. Amazing use of eye tiles!

Beta Brick masterfully works the seed part into a mix of uses in this immersive farm scene, with eggshells serving as mountain peaks, tractor wheels, and cabbages. The attention to detail, like adding ruts under the tractor tires, make this a winning scene.

Old Tractor on a Farm

I have a bone to pick with how good Harry‘s buzzard is! Eggshells work perfectly as both feather ruffs and wrinkly skin.

Margit‘s belle of the ball is dressed to impress with a bank and gold gown. Those Dreamzzz hair pieces make perfect fairy tale pigtails.

Pretty in Pink

Peter brings his A-game with this elegant chess set. Check and mate.

Congratulations to the eight builders above who move on to round 3!

Sadly, for the other twelve participants (this builder included!), the Iron Forge journey ends here, not that their creations aren’t impressive.

PriXard finds a perfect fit between the gaps of two opposing crowns using a flower element.

A flowering fountain

Bas van Houwelingen shares a sweet pastry build topped with eggshell berries.

Dessert Time

Jake Forbes (me again!) pays tribute to the obscure movie that inspired that song Dustin sings in Stranger Things season 3.

Ivory Tower

FS Leinad amazes with a kin and wizard. This pink eggshell makes for an uncannily good wizard nose!

The King and the Green Wizard

brickprincessbuttercup never gets stuck coming up with ideas, but maybe her builds can land someone in a sticky situation.

Owen goes mushroom hunting with this fun(gi) fantasy character.

Greenarj also casts a spell with this witch and her winged lion familiar.

Dynamic Duo

Grant Decker raids the candy drawer and finds a slew of the seed part.

Halloween Haul

Cameron shows the consequences of too much candy with this haunting peek inside a mouth during a dental visit.

Jule offers up a throne fit for a Iron Builder in a elegant bathroom packed with clever parts usage. The toilet brush is a person favorite.

Cosy WC

Brickrad investigates clever uses oof the seed part in the name of Science, and I’m so Glad(os) they did!

Finally, Cab ~ sees us off with a soothing trip to the aquarium where suspended eggshells make for perfect jellyfish.

Aquarium Date

While we shared one build from each participant, everyone created between 3 and 11 builds during the one week challenge period. Congratulations to all of the builders, and best of luck to those moving on to round 3!
