Can’t make it to Disneyland any time soon? While this eerily detailed LEGO replica of the Haunted Mansion ride by legocellus doesn’t come with the smell of churros wafting over New Orleans Square, it does come crowd-free, which feels like a fair trade. Our tour starts outside the stately old manor. Enter if you dare!
Before we venture inside, let’s pause a moment to appreciate the detail afforded to the scrollwork on the exterior, where handcuff elements have been employed to impressive effect. Their pairing with the 1×1 clip part is absolutely inspired! And the texturing on that front door is wonderful. Let’s open it, shall we….
Inside, you can see evidence of the grim, grinning ghosts coming out to socialize. The iconic busts from the ride are clearly referenced as you explore the ballroom. The organ is primed and the table is set for a lively ghost party that’s surely about to begin. But before it does, check out the great parts usage in the easy chair. That back cushion is taken from the front of a LEGO F1 racer.
A slightly lower vantage point reveals another Easter egg: the dueling portraits found in the Haunted Mansion’s hallways. Eagle-eyed viewers might also spot the crystal ball containing Madame Leota’s floating head in the upper right corner.
Ascend, if you dare, into the attic, where the Hatbox Ghost himself awaits you. The trinkets and curios surrounding him make for quite the impressive backdrop.
That’s where the tour ends! Of course, you’re always welcome to return. As the ride promises, the spirits are just dying to have you.
This would make a great modular building.
